Did a 1 night stay to relax and complete some work. This place is conveniently located at a mall so there are plenty of food options nearby. It is also a short walk from City Hall train station via the sheltered underpass. Check in was hassle free. The room was clean and sufficient for what I needed to do. The view is not amazing if that is particularly important to your experience. I felt the need to have to blinds down, as the neighboring hotel is so near that it felt like the guests there could see into your room if the blinds were up, which is a shame, as I quite liked the natural sunlight. As it is located near a fire station, you may occasionally hear sirens. It does not bother me but it's a FYI if you're a light sleeper. Hot and cold drinking water dispensers are available along the corridors. A common fridge is available along the corridor where the dispensers are, with provided labels and markers to label your items. There are a few common spaces to explore, including a kitchen, dining area, and a workspace near the lobby. Overall, an interesting concept that reminds me of when I was living in hostels overseas.
Good hotel overall; rooms are new and at a high standard, location is excellent. However it is not a 4 star hotel; in our 3 night stay our room was not cleaned once, there are no breakfast facilities, the rooms do not have basic amenities such as a mini fridge, a tv or tea/coffee station. Overall all minor points and we enjoyed our stay, but it should be marketed as a 3 star at most.
Lovely rooms, clean and tidy. Staff at the front desk were helpful and checking out at 12 was a big benefit after a busy few days. 2 min walk to the metro was fantastic for seeing Singapore and 10 min walk to water front was also a benefit. Wifi was a little dodgy but meant I spoke to my family more, they seem like nice people. Gym was very basic but there is a fantastic gym in the Funan complex and a day pass is 30 dollars which you can use their pool with too. Would stay again if I ever come to Singapore but quite frankly it's a long way away from the UK so I probably won't.
What I liked: - Staff at the reception was kind and helpful. - Location in the mall is convenient. - 10 min walk to City Hall MRT station underground and 10 min walk to Clarke Quay MRT station overground. - The lobby area has plenty of tables to sit and work etc. What I did not like: - Room was smaller than advertised. The "One of a kind plus" room was advertised to be 27 sqm, but our room was definitely smaller. The layout was also different than shown on the website. Overall inconvenient layout. - The glass between the shower and the rest of the bathroom was missing - while in other rooms it was there (according to pictures on Google Maps). Also, the water in the shower took several minutes to heat up. The water in the sink was only available in slightly cold, no option to change the temperature. - The common kitchen didn't have peeling knife or cutlery, quite strange, while kitchenette in room was convenient and well equipped. - Housekeeping is only once every seven days, I interpret this as costsaving (while advertised as sustainability), which seems unreasonable to me given the price. Other points: - Cleanliness was overall good but not flawless - The first room had a noisy AC and the air did not smell fresh, but we could change easily directly after arrival. But still strange that this was not flagged by housekeeping. - We asked for a quiet room and it was indeed reasonably quiet, even though there is not much of a sound insulation to the hallway. We sometimes heard the sirens of the fire department but it did not wake us up in the night. We got a room without a view (apparently necessary to have a quiet room) and indeed, there was not much of a view and also no sunlight. - Bed was medium comfortable. - Workout area is there but really small. Last year I stayed in Citadines Rochor and would recommend that one over lyf funan.
Good location - walkable to Chinatown, little India, Bugis. Itโ€™s also nicely situated on top of a mall, so easy access to food in the food court. Rooms are small, very tight space and we asked for tissues but no one ever came.
