This was my first experience with Outsite — I wanted to feel it out before committing to a membership, and this sealed the deal for me! We were greeted with traditional mint tea upon arrival and our rooms were ready early. The riad is stunning and SO close (5 minute walk) to the heart of the action in Old Town Marrakesh. Two separate staff members even walked with us our first few times to get us where we needed to go for dinner and an activity pickup. (The streets are very windy cobblestone and have lots of pedestrians/mopeds — not the easiest to navigate right off the bat!) They were also very helpful in securing us transportation to/from the airport (highly recommend as it’s only $30/rt) and when we had dinner away from Medina. Really nice breakfast spread each morning that was left out for people even past the “end time”. While I didn’t use it much for working space this time around, most people did and it was a really great community feel — always someone to chat with and great to hear about their experiences at other Outsite locations. The rooms were pretty minimalist and basic, but was very thankful they all had their own AC units! Can’t wait to go back for a longer time in the near future as an official Member!
My week at Outsite Marrakech was a great experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay, the common areas and room were well kept and clean. The work space is quite small (one large table) but enough for the amount of people there, and internet speed was good. Location also couldn't be better, right in the center of the Medina and within walking distance to a lot of restaurants. What made my experience extra special are the people I met there and the conversations and meals we shared together. The only thing is that the 'community building' was left up to the guests, as the team there did not facilitate any events - this could be improved as right now it completely depends on the other guests and their willingness to organize dinners together etc.
My first stay at an Outsite location and really enjoyed it. Great location - in the Medina but down a quiet alley so virtually no ambient noise. The riad itself is beautiful. Lots of common spaces for work, a great sunny roof top and working area next to the central space. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and full of lovely details. I actually looked to find a riad nearby for a romantic getaway with my partner but decided against it - couldn't find any place more beautiful or calm. I was traveling with a friend so didn't make use of the WhatsApp group much however it was very active and the group that was staying were all very kind and happy to socialize. Perfect for a solo traveller looking for a bit of community. The Outsite team was also very welcoming. Definitely had the feel of a co-living apartment block rather than a hotel. The rooms around the centre courtyard can get a bit noisy in the morning during breakfast (the sound travels) but other than that, very quiet. Oh also - a highlight for me - a family lunch was organised during my stay. The team cooked up huge dishes of cous cous, veggies and meat and everyone was invited to sit down to share this meal, including the Ousite team. It was really lovely.
I had a great experience both times I visited the Marrakech Outsite and that was partly because of the kind of people that I could meet there --other professionals with similar interests--, but specially because of the convenience of having so many and so helpful locals helping out on every step at every hour. The location is also great to enjoy the Medina and to go on the weekend excursions. All this made me come back multiple times, both as a visit and as a guest. Thank you everyone!
I had such a range of opinions throughout my stay. Pros: I love the look and feel of the riad, my room, my bathroom, the common areas, etc. The small pool and hammam room were excellent extras. I generally liked the staff there, especially Othmane, what a gem! And I met nice people, it was great to use the whatsapp group for helping connect with others. The wi-fi worked well for me, though others were having trouble at times. Cons: The breakfast was so so, and the coffee was generally not good. It was also only available at breakfast, there was not any available throughout the workday as I usually find at other coworking spots. Also noise travels SO much in this building, you can hear everyone's conversations. If you are chatting with someone in the common area at night, undoubtedly someone else can hear it and is trying to sleep (and they might tell you so!) So it could really use a place to be where it's ok to talk and not be disturbing everyone. Also on the noise issue, the construction started at the neighboring building at 6:45 AM almost every morning and was super loud from my room. If you are a light sleeper, this might not be the place for you. The location is decent but the medina can be overwhelming at first trying to find your way around. Lastly, I had a quite unpleasant interaction with Outsite HQ at one point and that left me feeling mixed about the whole experience.
