After reading recent negative reviews I contacted the owner before booking to make sure there was definitely a community manager living at the house, and asked how busy it would be during my two week stay.
I was told there was only one room available and that the community manager was living at the house. What they actually meant was that for one night of my stay there was only one room available, after day 3 of my stay all other guests left and no one else came.
I rarely saw the community manager who was working full time elsewhere for a large part of my stay - and anyway there was no community to manage.
Bookings out of season can be low, but I specifically asked the owner these questions to avoid the situation I found myself in - living and working alone all day - the exact opposite of a coliving experience. The owner told other guests that more people were coming during my stay, despite this not being true, I have still not had an adequate explanation why he told myself and others this.
I visited Bedndesk for about a week this past August and I would give them 100 stars if I could! They have a a fabulous set up less than one block to the beach in S'Arenal.
Booking was a breeze. I quickly received a response from Adrienne and she was more than accommodating in helping me choose which room was best for me.
The hostel was never too hectic and all of the guests were incredibly nice! The rooms and beds are comfortable, and there's plenty of desks with monitors, hi speed wifi, etc to work during the day while having easy access to all Mallorca has to offer. Sean, the house manager, was so nice and helpful and he took us around the island showing us all of the cool spots.
I can't thank Adrienne, Juanse, and Sean enough for ensuring such a pleasant stay. I wholeheartedly recommend Bedndesk and plan to return as soon as I can!
I can't understand how this place has so many positive reviews—I'm convinced they must be fake. The accommodation is in desperate need of renovation. We were left to fend for ourselves, as there was no actual house manager on-site—just a WhatsApp number, and they eventually brought in a new person. Unlike other coliving spaces, there were no organized activities whatsoever. On top of that, the noise at night is unbearable for anyone, not just light sleepers, because it's located near a German party street. The smell of mold throughout the space is noticable, and there's only one meeting room available. I will definitely not be returning.
My stay was okay-ish, the only positive experience was the people I shared the house with. The building itself is an old house that could benefit from some renovations. There's a noticeable moldy smell, especially in the meeting room, which also shows signs of water damage.
One of the major issues was the noise. Until late at night, the sound of gates and doors being closed was quite loud, often making it feel like someone was entering my room. This made it challenging to get a good night's sleep because your body was quite in alert mode.
The location is okay if you're into partying and tourist spots, but it might not be ideal for those who are looking for a quieter stay. It's right at the beginning of the German party street. For work purposes, the space presented challenges as well. There is only one meeting room available for calls, and it's not possible to have calls in the upstairs rooms or too far to the right or left of the router, because of the internet connection. Furthermore, the desks are rented out to external people as well, with six already occupied by the guests, leaving literally no space for private calls.
Communication with the manager is solely through WhatsApp; I never met them in person. Towels weren't swapped out, and expired food in the kitchen was left unattended, but they do take care of it when you write them on WhatsApp. It seems like the love and care for this house is missing.
Overall, I wouldn't return to BednDesk because it's hard to get a good night's sleep and it's not a nice work environment. Some people were driving to coworking cafés in Palma for a nicer work environment and that is not the point of a coworking place.
I had an amazing stay here! The vibes were immaculate, the workspace had everything you could need, and every day was a new adventure. It was perfect for my needs! Be sure to book :) Sean was the best!!!
My first coliving experience was an exceptional one because of BedNDesk, and for that, I want to thank the owners for creating such a beautiful home. A huge thank you also goes to the house manager Sean, whom I will now call a friend 😊. Thanks for the warm welcome, Sean, and for making us all feel at home.
I enjoyed the beautiful sunset walks to the beach close by, and the sushi night with everyone in the house. Also thoroughly enjoyed the market and cala hopping day, as well as that beautiful hike in Deia.
BedNDesk has truly put a lot of thought into creating a welcoming and beautiful coliving home. Every detail in the home from the cozy living room, reading nook, the porch, and beyond was well thought out.
If you ever find yourself in Mallorca, book this space fast. Or better yet, choose Mallorca as your next destination and stay at BedNDesk.
Had a great 7 days at the house, and the hosts are very attentive and welcoming. The price is very reasonable and the location is awesome because it's 5 minutes away from the beach. The house has all the amenities needed, but it could use some renovation. The area itself is quite loud unfortunately, maybe it also depends on which room you are in, so keep that in mind if you're a light sleeper. 40ish minutes away by bus from Palma, the best thing would be a car rental as there are many beautiful places around the island.
All in all, I hope to come back soon! Thank you for everything! :)
