Stayed at Dash for 4 nights, over NYE. Booked only a few weeks out so didn’t have a lot of options. Pros: amazing location in the middle of Sheung Wan, competitive pricing considering booked quite late. Cons: small room, poor house keeping (no change of bins, beds etc), rooms are modern but dated, walls are very thin. In summary we wouldn’t stay here again nor recommend it, but if you need something as a budget short stay it’s passable however there are a lot of other options of there.
I booked this hotel as I thought the rooms looked nice and modern in the photos. Unfortunately this hotel was a catfish and did not look like the photos at all. -The bed was literally so low, it was on the ground. This was extremely uncomfortable and off putting. -There is mold in the shower. -The air conditioner was leaking. -The room is very dark, it feels like a dungeon. -The walls are paper thin! My room technically had a doorway into the next room but it was locked. I could hear all of my neighbors conversations clearly and even hear them packing/rustling papers. -The room cleaning service does not include making the bed?!?! I asked them to make my bed multiple times but they said they would charge me for that. They only change towels. The location is central HOWEVER getting a cab to load/unload is a headache as the road they are on is fenced off and cars cannot pull over to park. This hotel was bearable but I would not book again, especially at the price. This “hotel” is more of a motel or hostel.
I booked Dash Queen's Road last minute on September 1 for a stay from September 1 to 3, but only later realized I had mistakenly booked from September 2 to 3 instead. When I arrived and checked in, the hotel staff told me the hotel was quite full, though I found a room online. I requested to stay in the same room but was told no. After further questions, I realized that by downgrading my room type, I could avoid checking out and checking in again. The staff confirmed I could not upgrade back after downgrading, and I agreed On September 2, I left early for work (5AM) with a Do Not Disturb sign on my door. After a long day of work, when I returned around 6 PM, all my belongings in the room were gone. The room has no phone, so I had to go down to reception, but the staff had already left and only security remained. I had to communicate with staff online. Eventually, someone came back, and we searched everywhere, including the trash and storage, before finding my belongings in a plastic bag (white garbage bag) in a different room on a different floor. The staff said the manager would follow up, but after two days, I have heard nothing. It is shocking that housekeeping or staff barged in despite my DND sign — this is a serious safety issue. Overall, this was a very unpleasant and disappointing stay. I do not recommend Dash Queen's Road.
Stayed 4+ nights. Room is tight. Best for solo travelers. Staff are friendly, but don’t expect real 4-star service. Very basic amenities. Ideal if you’re out all day and just need a comfortable place to rest. Location is the biggest plus!! The street is also quiet at night. Downside: the place isn’t bad, but it needs serious upkeep. Dusty rooms, even in the entrance, and it triggered my allergies. I’m not super picky, but it’s just an okay comfy stay overall.
A big thumbs up to Nadia, who was at the reception desk when I dropped by. She was extremely friendly and helpful to my enquires about possible accommodation options for myself and my cat. I happened to pass by the area checking out other options and thought I’ll go in to ask a few questions in person for a quicker response. She was very friendly from the minute I walked up and was very patient with her answers. This is what great customer service look like! 👍 The facilities look great and well maintained. Elevator to all levels and big full length windows looking out the city. Smack dab in the middle of the interesting part of the city.
Super tiny room. In a twin room and you can’t even open two baggages. Bed is super single (which means super small). Shower was ok. Water pressure is strong and I didn’t experience the clogging sinks and moldy issue like other guests did, but the hairdryer, which is attached to the wall and on the left hand side of the sink and requires you to keep pressing the button during use is extremely troublesome and unfriendly for guests who have long hair to be dried. No hand towel and because the tap is not above the sink, the tabletop always gets wet. Everything in the room is basic and this is guaranteed not a 4 star hotel. A hostel at most. Service was okay. Forgot to bring a adapter and the staff at night shift lent me one immediately upon request. Check in and check out was smooth. WiFi is very unstable and slow. With other business hotels nearby, I won’t return.
Welcome to the most atrocious 4-star hotel I've ever seen. I'm an airline pilot and spend about 1/3 of my life in hotels. This is not a 4-star hotel so please do not book if you believe this to be 4-star. I would classify this as a 2-star hotel. Service is abysmal, the entire place is dated. The shower floods and the rooms are absolutely tiny - please do not be fooled by the photos. The bed feels as if it is about to fall apart and is in dire need of a replacement. Videos will soon be attached. It's only saving grace is the location which is a prime spot. If the hotel advertised itself as 2-Star I would have little complaint but it is entirely misleading to advertise this as 4-Star! Tourists, you've been warned.
We chose this hotel for its central location. The hotel itself is basic, but not in a bad way. Small, but functional rooms, small shower, with great pressure, a TV, a chair, a kettle and a comfy bed. That is it. We arrived late, after hours you check in on an iPad, it was very quick. Plenty of shops and restaurants around. MTR is a few minutes walk. Would stay again.
