Great Coliving space. Lots of sunlight, spacious kitchen to cook and eat, comfortable Pod style beds and accessible co working/living room space.
This place is So bad. Don't do this to yourself. Stay at an Airbnb until you're able to get your own spot... I requested month to month until my apartment was ready. I gave notice that same day I signed the contract that I would be leaving the following month (verbal and in writing). I ended up only staying for three days. (I understood I would still be charged for a month) But after that month they attempted to keep changing me. I was no longer there. I made many calls and emails to the manager and even the owner...After I reached out to my lawyer this company finally stopped harassing me... So many months later I just received a call and a text message from someone inquiring about staying there. I was so confused because I don't work there and never have. When I talked with the young lady she told me that my name and number was posted on the entrance door of Haven on penmar for people to call me for questions. I asked who put that there, she said some older lady with red hair... What?!!! Who ever is reading this do yourself a favor and look somewhere else.
The housekeeper was very kind however my bed was occupied. the phone number was incomplete in the reservation email. The phone number is also missing from Google maps. I had to Google it thankfully got a hold of someone. They provided another room however the lock was broken so I couldn't lock my items up. Since there is nobody on site except the housekeeper I feel like they double as the receptionist and should be paid accordingly. There were also indications of people who were living there without their items stowed away so it appears as if you're sharing a space with a roommate versus a traveler. That is not what I was anticipating. When these types of things happen, the best customer service is to offer a discount a refund or a credit, and obviously and meaningful apology. Providing feedback is the only way we can improve and when I'm chastised for giving feedback that tells you all you need to know about a place like this. Hence they get one star.
I ran across Haven when looking for a a hostel in the area. It’s premium priced for a hostel (about 2.5x, but in my view, well worth it). In fact, I signed up for a 30 day stay and plan to make this my home.
There are a few reasons I made this decision. (1) location. Gym, beach, good food, all in walking distance. (2) excellent value for a 1 month/multi month stay (3) family/community. The people here make this very special. It’s what I needed/was looking for. Thank you!
They don’t return deposits!
We were evicted from their location in Venice, and even though the owner, Robert, knew this was going to happen because he lost the case in court several months before the eviction, he didn’t communicate with the 50+ people living there. In fact, he was still moving people in even after we received the eviction notice. He refuses to return our deposits and doesn’t respond to emails or calls.
This was the most amazing stay at Haven. Aviana and the whole community welcomed me with so much love. I was actually staying here 5 years ago actually! I feel like I made an amazing group of friends!
Haven Coliving is a great place to stay. Friendly people and great amenities. Walking distance to everything you need and not far from Venice beach at all. I will definitely be staying here again in the future.
Haven is a lovely place in a great neighborhood in Venice. It's close to everything: shops, restaurants, and the beach. If you're traveling solo, this place is very convenient as you'll meet many like-minded people. It has a large and nice kitchen, workspaces, and a fantastic view from the roof. I highly recommend this place!
