I have stayed here in the past throughout 2023 and it was a good experience. This trip has been anything but good. If you remotely work, study or think you will sleep this is not your location. The music at night is not as loud compared to the main avenue, but still goes well into the night. Having your windows open to circulate air (No AC) will cause louder music/ sounds. The construction next door is unbearable and starts around 6 to 630am so even when you are able to go to sleep after music quiets between 12-4am depending on night of the week. You will get little to no sleep. The construction goes until the clubs start so 2-6 hours of sleep should be expected. There was no warning that construction is happening so early in the morning going into the night. I hope this review helps provide clarity for those who seek a semi-quiet atmosphere or need one for work. Side note: Noise cancelling headphones will not help given construction is right outside your window.
During my stay, service and reception staff were amazing. But the building didn't have internet for 3 weeks in my room, my first room leaked when it rained heavy, shower wouldn't drain. In my second room, we didn't have hot waters for 3-4 days in a row, and cold water was cloudy (but drinkable). The building has a great community, and it's a great social place. But the building is in boarder-line disrepair.
Former Resident Dec 2020 - May 2021: For the time that i was at Indie, i had fun, made a lot of great relationships and it was a great spot for someone who wants a short term spot with a social atmosphere. However in the last year, ive seen it deteriorate, the relationship between the staff and residents can be combative, frequently without internet. Loud construction due to a building demolished next door, and some residents themselves have turned toxic and hostile. Ive tried to stay in touch with some friends in the building, but overall i think if you are looking for a place to stay, id recommend other locations, for the utilities you get, the lack of staff accountability when things need to be fixed, you can do a lot better until they get their act together. It might look affordable, but trust me you can do a lot better for the price they ask.
Really bad wifi for remote workers. Loud (construction just started next door). Ants everywhere. No TV, no fans come with the rooms (and it gets really hot). They will find a way to keep your deposit if they find a stain on your sheets. There are better coliving places in the area. This one just has a colorful building. Avoid at all costs.
I really enjoyed my stay! The staff is lovely, helpful and always available when you need something! My apartment was cozy, modern furnished and with a huge window and a wonderful view on the mountains and city! It is a nice place to connect with other people, enjoy sun on the rooftop and perfectly located in Laureles. At walking distance you have nice co-working cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, gym etc.. Just all you need to have a great experience in Medellin :)
