Truly an amazing coliving, with super friendly coliving managers, and Jeffreys Bay still seems relatively undiscovered by many travelers!! The Jeffreys Bay rhythm is incredibly chill, and once you get used to it, it’s absolutely fantastic (early to bed and early to rise). The house itself is stunning, with breathtaking views (you can even spot whales from the balcony sometimes!), fully equipped with everything you need, and just a 5-minute walk from incredible surf spots!
All in all, an absolute must-stay, perfect for both solo travelers and couples!
This has to be one of the best co-living places in the world, founded and run by the most genuine, lovely people. The house is so stunning and large, the location perfect for surfers and the general vibe of the house, co-working space, and community are unbeatable. I miss this place dearly and can't wait to return.
I spent two months at JBay Coliving and what a joy it's been. The place looks better even in person! And you don't want to miss the occasional dolphin or whale that comes up in the distance.
The place has everything you need for a comfortable and productive stay - good wifi, weekly cleanings, plenty of cozy lounge-y areas and a very nice kitchen. It's also minutes walk to a good restaurant, in case one gets lazy from cooking.
The people - friendly, down to do stuff together, usually to surf, and mostly early birds (for the surf or sunrise - my experience anyway). Lots of great chats and Wednesday dinners are a blast.
Overall, I had great time and would recommended if you need a chill place to do work, catch a bit of surf, maybe go on day trips with some cool people to nearby parks or coastal sites (like Cape St. Francis and the amazing Nevermind restaurant).
Some minor improvements (mostly kitchen-related):
- Sharper and better knives
- Less worn out pans
- Better wifi coverage in the kitchen, y'know, to jam to some tunes while cooking
- Put the green box grocery delivery website publicly somewhere, like on the fridge
I’ve had the pleasure of staying at JBay Co-living twice over the past few years, and I’d go back tomorrow if I could! I completely fell in love with living there. It’s the ultimate dream for anyone wanting to balance remote work and surfing - totally relaxing, yet such an inspiring and productive space. There’s a spacious work area right at home, plus a world-class co-working space just down the road (and bikes to get you there!).
The house itself is thoughtfully created and beautifully decorated by local artists and artisans. The views are breathtaking and the atmosphere is pure soul food. Everything is carefully considered, from hot morning coffee to the veggie garden and delicious house dinners. Michael and Karen, please start a food business—you’d be amazing at it! The care, quality and kindness from Karin, Michael, Paula, Steffi & Thuba, is top tier. The only negative is having to leave. I always feel so at home here, and I hope to come back asap. Missing you all! Amy x
I loved saying in the coliving. I'm an interior designer myself and I absolutely loved how they designed the area's. There was plenty of space in- and outside to work and chill. The kitchen is beautiful and functional. There are free bikes to go around and to bike to town. The beach and shops on walking distance.
This is a very special house. If you are looking for a place where you feel at
home, welcomed and where you can spend your time with a great community, I totally recommend going there.
The hosts are making this house a very special place with weekly get togethers as well as with their warm personalities and character.
I had two awesome months there and definitely will come
Back. Best place in Jbay to be!
If you’re looking for a space where you’ll feel at home from day one, this is it.
With the best views in town, Jeffrey’s Bay is perfect for slow travelers. There’s not a huge amount happening, but that’s exactly what makes it special—you settle into a unique sense of calm quickly, and the people you meet become the highlight of your stay.
And this is really what sets this place apart for me. It truly feels like you’re stepping into a tight-knit community—a family almost—the moment you walk through the door.
A big thanks to Henku and Steffi for the great chats, Michael for being the best guardian of the space, and Karin for being the heart of the house—you all made this stay real memorable.
