🏨 has short staysFine for a workation, but significant turnover works against coliving principles for a cohesive community; a longer minimum stay supports better interactions. What is coliving?💁 has host / managerOften on site to give suggestions and take questions, but do not actively facilitate community.🙈 ranks very lowAs a 'coliving' this space likely doesn't meet expectations — yet may be acceptable if you're not expecting much. I should have paid more attention to the reviews as many guests warned about the room size, and they were absolutely right. The room is extremely small, to the point where it’s impossible to open luggage comfortably. This is not a 4-star hotel experience; it feels more like a trendy hostel with cramped quarters.
The only positive was the front desk staff, who were genuinely friendly and helpful during check-in. However, no amount of hospitality makes up for the lack of space. If you value room comfort, look elsewhere—this was a disappointing stay."
I hate to have to give this review, but it has to be done.
This is not a four star hotel, to even suggest this consciously is egregious.
It’s a lukewarm three star, that’s maybe even just a two star hotel.
I would’ve given this hotel a significantly higher rating if the management had been honest about things, because it’s really quite an alright accommodation. But dishonesty is not appreciated, especially when they have the gall to call this a four star.
The only positive was the staff, who were kind and well mannered.
There’s no fridge in your room—you have to rely on three communal ones on the third floor, one of which reeks.
When you need anything, the single phone on your floor is your only option, so if you forget your key, you’re locked out.
The pride flag was also everywhere. A very woke establishment.
The only upsides are the great location and acceptable cleanliness.
Like classy hostel & private hotel hybrid. Designed to really encouraged socialising, but still very peaceful like normal hotel. Very professional staffs. Very clean. Seems like the owner really put care into the details.
but i think it’s a abit over-priced for the room size & i hope they change the pillows. it gave me neck pain while sleeping.
I had a reservation mix up with a hotel I had originally booked to stay in, and so I hurriedly found Lyf with an empty room and booked it on my day of arrival at the hotel

Overall.
Well located hotel with uncomfortably tiny, but clean room. Is it worth the price? 🤷🏻♀️
We stayed at lyf Tenjin Fukuoka for 10 days and overall had a very pleasant experience. The room offers everything you need, and thanks to the cleverly designed bed, there’s ample space to store your luggage underneath. However, I missed having a window that could be opened, and a fridge in the room would have been a great addition. That said, there’s a shared fridge in the hotel’s communal area, which all guests can use.
The communal area is well-equipped with a kitchen, plenty of seating options, washing machines, and dryers. There’s even a dedicated smoking room for smokers. While I don’t usually spend time in shared hotel spaces, I found this one quite convenient. Combined with the nearby convenience stores, it’s very easy to prepare an affordable meal in the evening. I also used the small work pods twice, which are perfect for getting some focused work done.
Everything was very clean, the staff were friendly, and the housekeeping team did a great job.
The location of the hotel was ideal for all our adventures. Both the subway and regular train stations were within walking distance. Additionally, there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby to cover all your daily needs.
Overall, lyf Tenjin Fukuoka is a fantastic base for exploring Fukuoka, with its convenient location and well-thought-out amenities.
This hotel is the worse hotel I've stayed in in Japan. It's too small and not in a cozy way. It's like claustrophobic small. The window does not open and it's too hot even in the winter. And finally, that light at the entrance of the room that stay light up for a good 10 min everytime you go to the bathroom. What a great idea !!!! And since the room is as big as a coffin you can rest assured you will trigger it even in your sleep which makes it even more annoying. Anyway, put 3000 more yen elsewhere and go to any APA hotel or whatever. At least you'll get a decent night sleep.
