We stayed at lyf Tenjin Fukuoka for 10 days and overall had a very pleasant experience. The room offers everything you need, and thanks to the cleverly designed bed, there’s ample space to store your luggage underneath. However, I missed having a window that could be opened, and a fridge in the room would have been a great addition. That said, there’s a shared fridge in the hotel’s communal area, which all guests can use. The communal area is well-equipped with a kitchen, plenty of seating options, washing machines, and dryers. There’s even a dedicated smoking room for smokers. While I don’t usually spend time in shared hotel spaces, I found this one quite convenient. Combined with the nearby convenience stores, it’s very easy to prepare an affordable meal in the evening. I also used the small work pods twice, which are perfect for getting some focused work done. Everything was very clean, the staff were friendly, and the housekeeping team did a great job. The location of the hotel was ideal for all our adventures. Both the subway and regular train stations were within walking distance. Additionally, there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby to cover all your daily needs. Overall, lyf Tenjin Fukuoka is a fantastic base for exploring Fukuoka, with its convenient location and well-thought-out amenities.
This hotel is the worse hotel I've stayed in in Japan. It's too small and not in a cozy way. It's like claustrophobic small. The window does not open and it's too hot even in the winter. And finally, that light at the entrance of the room that stay light up for a good 10 min everytime you go to the bathroom. What a great idea !!!! And since the room is as big as a coffin you can rest assured you will trigger it even in your sleep which makes it even more annoying. Anyway, put 3000 more yen elsewhere and go to any APA hotel or whatever. At least you'll get a decent night sleep.
I usually just leave a rating without a detailed review, but compared to other hotels, this one lacks too many things. I’m leaving this here so you can be aware before making a reservation. • No refrigerator • Windows don’t open • Poor soundproofing by the door • No phone in the room (this is the most baffling—what are you supposed to do in an emergency?) • No medicine (I asked the front desk for cold medicine, and they said they didn’t have any) To put it simply, this place is not a hotel but more like a guesthouse or dormitory. Please take note of this before booking. Staffs are nice and the interior is good tho.
This was only a brief one night stay here and it proved excellent value for money. Location is excellent in Tenjin with a myriad of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The room itself my studio double was on the small side and I would not recommend it if you have a lot of luggage. They do have handily some storage Space under the room. Service is friendly and they were kind enough to check me in at 1.30pm.
Kind of a hipster hotel, super focused on being green which I think is more an excuse to let you self service everything. The room motif was pressboard, but with clear coat. There's a rooftop bar which sports a nice view, but it doesn't make up for the pretentious nature of what is a lackluster place to stay. I left as soon as I could book elsewhere, lucky them with the no cancellation policy so they got a free day out of me. Maybe it's just me, but there are much nicer hotels at much better prices in the area. Actually, I think I have a simplified description. This hotel feels like a very rich person let his 15yo son try his hand at running a business. It's childish, cheap, and just pretentious. The desk uncomfortable, the chair is an ottoman, the bed is lumpy, the room is lifeless and bland, It's not dirty, it's not a bad place, but there's just no life to it. Kind of ironic given the name. The place I went to was about 2000 yen less per night and had a full kitchen, way more room, and a much nicer aesthetic. Would not recommend.
