A anfitriã Juliana Costódio super dedicada, simpática e profissional.
Why only one star? The rooms are very nicely decorated and comfortable in general -although there's no AC so it gets super hot during the summer time-. Location: It's close to the best mall in Porto, and really near to supermarkets, but far from the closest metro station-15ish minute walk- and the city centre. Service: The cleaning staff and handy men were wonderful and whenever you had a question or needed their help, they were there to fix whatever was broken. So, why one star then? Because they gave us (me and my wife) the worst experience we've had since we arrived in Portugal. These people (The owner and one of his employees) treated us with absolute disrespect out of the blue. In a truly inhumane and unjust way, based on an "error" that lasted 24 hours, they threatened to kick us out of their house if we didn't leave the premises willingly. Why? Because I dared to ask for help to understand the increase in the rent. Did they follow local inflation? Was it another kind of metric? We were paying 690 euros a month and it was going to be 790 instead. I didn't even refuse to the price increase. I just wanted to understand how they increased it YoY. That was all I wanted to know. We signed in good faith a "long-term" agreement and, even though it was still valid and hadn't come to an end, at around 2pm on August 31st they told us we had to leave the room that very same night. Coincidentally enough, literally 5 minutes after I asked in an internal whatsapp group about the metric they used to increase the rent. On September 1st, at 1700 (after a very long sleepless night btw) they said it was "an error" as they thought the agreement had a different date. It was bull#"$. It all happened because the owner of the place did not like me asking about the price increase. That was all. Like in a good dictatorship, where you cannot fathom out the motives behind their decisions (decisions that impact you of course). Bear in mind, this pertains to long-term agreements. If you booked the place on airbnb / booking or some other site, you probably won't understand. But be weary because these people can say or do whatever they want based on the laws that benefit them (law enforcement seems to be quite loose here). Ps: I have submitted a formal complaint with all the support material that I have. So, yes, I have proof. Ps2: This has nothing to do with the cleaning and maintenance team. They were absolutely wonderful and kind throughout the time we stayed there.
