We are a couple and a big German Shepard living in a standard room (approx 20 sqm, including bathroom). I'm studying, and my fiance is travelling a lot for work, so he is not here all the time. We are staying here for a longer term around 5 months, and this review has been written almost halfway through our stay. ***THE APARTMENT HOTEL*** Is very nice and cosy, beware that when you have to check in, the staffed reception is on the 4th floor. Also, here you find the Sky Lounge, where there is very cozy and nice. With nice colours, couches, a TV with Nintendo (free to use), and the Sky Lounge Bar. The bar has a nice selection of drinks and small dishes to a fair price. They just got a student discount, so that helps on it. The hotel offers different events, like decorating the christmas tree, Taco tuesday, which is nice, but they could promote it a bit more. It's not so clear on their homepage. In the sky lounge, there is also a place to work/study, and if one needs more clamness, the board room is also available and free to use. During the day the door is open for everyone, (up to the Sky lounge, need a keycard to get into the halls) and in the evening there comes a security man to check up on things, which is nice. *** LOCATION*** Harburg is the melting pot of cultures, so you will find yourself in a diverse area, with a lot of different cultures. In the beginning, if not used to, it can be overwhelming, but do not fear, I find it safe enough to walk around. On one side, right next to the hotel is the Pheonix Centre, which is very nice also. With a good selection of shops and a food court, nice for the days when I/we don't feel like cooking. Behind the hotel is Continental, which does produce a little noise during the day when the window is open, but nothing that is too loud. And the windows closed you can't hear them. ***THE ROOM** So the room is actually a fine size, nice and cosy. There is a nice size bathroom, with shower and soap (hand, body and hair) and lotion. In the room, you find a closet/storage in a nice size with open selves and rack to hang cloth (can be closed/covered by a curtain). We did go to IKEA to get an extra dresser for our clothes. Also is a small kitchen, with two stoves, a microwave oven, sink, refrigerator, small electric kettle, and some necessary cutlery. *** TRANSPORT *** The hotel is really well located, close to the Harburg Bhf. Which makes it very easy to get anywhere, with both reginal, S-bhan, and busses. It takes around 15-20 minutes into Hamburg Mitte with the S-Bahn. *** STAFF *** The staff in general is very nice and helpful. I have had the pleasure of Kai, who is a very sweet receptionist, and so very helpful, and my dog Zenta really just loves him. The house-keeping staff have been a bit afraid of my dog, but in general it's not a problem, there was one time, where there was some miscommunication about time, when we have agreed that they come for cleaning of the room, else nothing. As long as you keep respect that not everybody loves your dog, they also stay clear so you can pass them. Else the house-keep staff is also really nice and helpful. In general it feels that the staff is sweet, helpful and nice. ***CONCLUSION*** General is a nice place to stay, which is also pet friendly.
Located just opposit to Harburg train station. Walking distance to shopping complex Phoenix Center Harburg Very clean apartment hotel and privacy
Great place for staying in Hamburg! I stayed only one night this time but I will be definitely back for longer. Cozy, affordable. Feelgood place :)
The staffs are nice, but their managers are not helpful and friendly at all! Update: their sound proof is so bad, I muss constantly deal with a lot of noises, from everywhere for god's sake (from the room next door to the one above you, I clearly hear their heavy shoe stepping on the floor, AND from the room cleaning service too, I mean every time the room next to mine gets to be cleaned, the furniture in my room literally shaking). The noises really get in my nerves. Maybe it's better for short stays, but I don't recommend this place for longer stays or if quietness is important to you.
I came here to a business trip to a very close factory. The room was good, breakfast rather expensive and it should be included with the stay. The most disappointing thing was the receptionist did not speak english when i arrived. It's a shame, this should not be the case in 2023... There are skme questionable person on the neraby streets, wouldnt recommend staying out too long. Paternoster is great its been a while i used one, it doesnt go up the sixth floor beware.
Heavy dark industrial design. The rooms are in black colour with furniture and walls, including the bathroom. Very clean, and hygienic and the small kitchen in the room has all the necessary - microwave, two electric stoves, fridge, storage place, and some cutlery and plates. For 145 euros per night, breakfast was not included to my surprise. Good connection to public transport and easy-to-reach most common places in Hamburg.
