Amazing place to stay for students and young professionals at the centre of Riga. Offers lots of cozy spaces, study areas and a common kitchen. Lots of activities are being organized where you can meet new people. The rooms are very modern and have everything you need for a comfortable stay.
If you want to pay 600+ euros (fines not included) to experience life similar to prison, it is a perfect place for you!
Be prepared for constant fire alarms, paying for the privilege to use washing machines, broken and missing vacuum cleaners, fines and unstable internet that is taken from Lithuania. Additionally, management is money hungry and double-faced. They will be nice and welcoming upfront but quickly change if you wrong them. If you do decide to leave it's going to cost you and they will complicate things as much as they can. For example, you need to pay them to clean the room for the next tenants although you deep cleaned everything before. If you have a lot of money to throw at shed, it is a convenient place to live, otherwise - stay clear.
I’ve been staying at SHED for some time now, and I couldn’t be more satisfied! The accommodations are modern, comfortable, and always spotless. The rooms come fully equipped, and the shared areas are perfect for unwinding or spending time with others.
The location is fantastic – it’s close to Riga Plaza for shopping and not too far from the city center, yet it’s tucked away in a peaceful, nature-filled setting. One of my favorite places is the terrace, where you can enjoy the fresh air and take in the beautiful view of the nearby river.
What really sets SHED apart is the exceptional staff. The reception team is always warm and welcoming, making sure you feel right at home from day one. They are always eager to help with any request, which creates a truly comfortable and friendly atmosphere.
Whether you’re looking for a safe place to live or a temporary stay in Riga, SHED is a great choice!
I've been living at SHED for some time now as one of their first tenants, and I couldn't be happier! The accommodations are modern and comfortable with clean, well-equipped rooms and fantastic communal spaces.
The location is ideal - close to shopping centers like Riga Plaza and not far from the city center, yet surrounded by nature. My favorite spot is the terrace where you can enjoy fresh air and beautiful views, and the little river outside.
The friendly and peaceful atmosphere here truly makes it feel like home, thanks to the staff who are always helpful and available to assist with any needs.
SHED is perfect for anyone looking for a safe place to live or temporarily stay in Riga. Highly recommend! :)
Thank you for the pleasant stay! The rooms offer everything one needs for a stay in Riga. There is a bathroom and a small kitchenette. If you wish for a better equipped kitchen you can use the communal kitchen. Also the object offers a gym (free to use!), a study room, and a recreational area in which you can play darts, pool and foosball. There is propably much more that you can discover, I just didn't use it :)
The only downsides, if you want to call them that (definitely compensated by the price), are that the Shed is located on the other side of the Daugava (only a 10 minute bus ride to the old town).
I would definitely recommend the place for people planning a longer stay in Riga.
Additional plus: the outside area offers tables and benches that you can spend time at.
During my 1 year stay at Shed I met a lot of medical and dentistry students from Germany and Sweden, but also students from other countries like France and Turkey. It felt safe to live with others in a similar situation like myself, I had never been to Riga before and everything was new to me. The managers Anna and Sanda were helpful and they organized fun activities. Sometimes issues could arise, such as missing vacuum cleaners, but they eventually were addressed and there was house managers and handyman available in case you needed help with anything. I liked that the place was newly renovated and had a designated study area and gym, but a minus would be the cost of using washing machine (4€ per cycle) on top of the rent and the distance to the city but at least Riga Plaza is nearby. So over all, I believe it’s a decent first home for foreign students.
