Worst Experience of My Life.
I lived at SHED and I truly wish I hadn't. This place was an absolute nightmare from day one, and I feel it's important to share my experience so others don’t go through the same.
Let me start with the safety issues which are beyond concerning. There were multiple instances of verbal and even physical harassment, including sexual comments and behavior, especially directed at women. Complaints to staff were ignored, and nothing was ever done to make the place safer. It felt like they just didn’t care, as long as they were getting paid.
Racism was another huge issue. Openly tolerated and never addressed even when reported. There was a clear culture of neglect and discrimination here, both from some tenants and the staff.
On top of that, there were constant problems with people smoking indoors cigarettes and weed and again the staff did nothing. The noise levels were out of control, with parties almost every night, loud music from rooms, and tenants yelling at all hours. If you're trying to study, concentrate, or simply sleep, forget it. not to mention there are construction sites nearby, adding even more noise every single day.
The staff was incredibly rude and unhelpfull. They only cared about fines and money nothing more. Maintenance issues were never resolved. If something broke, you could expect it to stay broken for months. And they are very quick to charge ridiculous amounts from your deposit for the smallest things. I was charged over 100 euros for something extremely minor.
The gym is tiny, WiFi is unreliable, and basic things like vacuum cleaners were almost never available. You even have to pay extra just to do your laundry, which often isn’t possible because the machines are always in use.
Worst of all, there is a total lack of privacy and boundaries. Staff entered my room without consent, even when I was in the shower. I was shocked and terrified. This was one of the most unsafe and uncomfortable experiences I’ve ever had.
The whole building constantly smelled like cigarettes and weed, and the fire alarms went off all the time, which added even more stress.
I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT live here. There are better, cheaper, and much safer options in the city. I regret ever moving in and I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially not to women or students looking for a peaceful, respectful environment.
Save yourself the stress. SHED is a BIG NO.
🌟This place is amazing! If you’re a student looking for a safe and comfortable place to stay while you’re studying then THIS is the place!
📍Location —> ideal! Close to train station, shopping center and city center.
🎯Everything you need is here (room with all essentials, fast internet, common kitchen, gym, game room and playstation, study room, laundry room etc.) + very helpful and friendly staff. They are always happy to help, if you have any questions.
🏠I highly recommend choosing SHED Co-living as your home!
I had a very disappointing experience at this place. For the high price compared to other accommodations in Riga, I expected much better service and conditions. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
One of the major issues was that we were charged from our deposit for a broken faucet that was already damaged before we moved in. We are responsible guests and reported the issue to the reception immediately, but no one came to fix it during our stay. After we left, we were informed that the cost would be deducted from our deposit, which is completely unfair.
The rooms are also very noisy, and on several occasions, there was a strong smell of weed coming from other rooms, which made the environment uncomfortable.
Overall, this place made my Riga experience worse, and I would not recommend it to others. There are better options in the city that offer more value.
I stayed at SHED Co-Living Riga for a few months and overall had a good experience. The rooms are modern and come fully furnished, which made moving in super easy. I really liked having a private bathroom and kitchenette, but also appreciated the shared spaces like the gym, co-working area, and rooftop terrace – great for meeting people.
The community vibe was a big plus, with regular events and a friendly atmosphere. If you’re looking for a hassle-free place to live with everything included, SHED is a solid option.🩷
Best place for students in whole Riga! Kind managers and staff helping in case its needed. Lovely place, there is a spacious gym, a great gaming area, a study area, a few coffee and snacks machines, a leisure area and a sports area with ping pong tables, pool tables and darts. The place is very clean and ecologic. The rooms have everything that is needed, a kitchen, a bed, a bathroom, a wardrobe and a working table. SHED is situated in a beautiful area close to the National Library and 20 minutes of walk from the old centre of Riga. I really advice this place!
Amazing place to stay for students and young professionals at the centre of Riga. Offers lots of cozy spaces, study areas and a common kitchen. Lots of activities are being organized where you can meet new people. The rooms are very modern and have everything you need for a comfortable stay.
If you want to pay 600+ euros (fines not included) to experience life similar to prison, it is a perfect place for you!
Be prepared for constant fire alarms, paying for the privilege to use washing machines, broken and missing vacuum cleaners, fines and unstable internet that is taken from Lithuania. Additionally, management is money hungry and double-faced. They will be nice and welcoming upfront but quickly change if you wrong them. If you do decide to leave it's going to cost you and they will complicate things as much as they can. For example, you need to pay them to clean the room for the next tenants although you deep cleaned everything before. If you have a lot of money to throw at shed, it is a convenient place to live, otherwise - stay clear.
