We stayed in SLEEP'N Atocha recently and the whole experience was exceptional and far above our expectations.
The service staff were amazing, so warm and engaging. We highly recommend this hotel

Didn’t realize til we got there just how great the location was. Almost next door to contemporary art museum, easy walk to Prado and.Botanical garden. Lots of eateries. Metro station around the corner and Atorcha station just across the road. Great breakfast buffet. And relatively affordable! Room was adequate size for two. 1st room AC functioned ok, second room AC functioned great.
Meticulously clean and operated by the friendliest staff you'll find anywhere. Originally a hostel, Sleep'N Atocha is a newly remodeled hotel with tiny rooms, great water pressure, and good air conditioning. Conveniently located near the Atocha train terminal, the hotel is near museums, parks, and a wide range of eating options. It ain't the Ritz, but the staff makes up for the facility's few shortcomings.
Online check in prior to arrival, clean rooms, great location, comfortable bed...what more do you need? Staff who care about their guests and the service they provide plus the eclectic decor make this a memorable place to stay.
I had a very unfavorable experience with the staff during my stay here. When coming back to the hotel on my first night, the receptionist stopped me, automatically assuming I was not a guest there. In front of other guests, she yelled at me and said my name & room number was not on her list and that “needed to leave the hotel”. After retrieving the email confirming my reservation, she finally let me go up to my room. I was extremely embarrassed and disgusted. I unfortunately did not get her name. I spoke to the hotel staff the next morning about what happened and told them that I felt I was a victim of discrimination. They apologized, and that was pretty much it.
As far as the accommodation, the bathroom and bed was fairly clean, and buffet breakfast was nice.
However, as a Black woman traveling solo, I would choose a hotel with more professional and accommodating staff.
This is a great find. The hotel is minutes always from Atocha train station and about 20 minute walk to Plaza Mayor. The rooms are small but clean. The staff is amazing. The staff have a way to make you feel welcome and very comfortable. They go above and beyond to help make your stay a pleasurable experience. My husband and I will definitely stay here again and we are referring all our friends to stay here as well.
I loved my stay at SLEEP'N. It is such a unique and amazing hotel, one of the coolest I've stayed at recently. Really, this hotel goes above and beyond in every way. The design, cleanliness, environmentalism, and service were all highlights. I loved especially the special attention to detail of the staff members who really seemed to care about making my stay as incredible as possible. They were all so kind and seemed to enjoy their work. The old adage "the people make the place" really holds true here.
The rooms are so efficiently and designed and with a strong focus on the environment, which I loved. Also the color scheme is really funky. I had a wonderful sleep and my inside-facing room was very quiet. I would 100% choose to stay here again anytime!!
