While I'm excited for my next adventure, a part of me wishes I could stay at 908 forever. If you're considering co-living, especially in SF, I can't recommend The 908 enough. It's more than just great housing with great people – it's a launchpad for personal growth and a place to find your friends in a new city.
If you're deciding whether to stay at this place, I highly recommend it without hesitation. Despite commuting 4 hours daily between Fremont and San Francisco, I've never regretted not living closer to work. I can confidently say that the value of this co-living space far exceeds the rent. It's more than just a place to stay—it's about the community. From promising founders and software engineers (of course, this is San Francisco!) to designers, an influencer, a non-profit advocate, and even a "chocolate boy" (a food scientist at the Ghirardelli chocolate factory, as I like to call him), the residents truly embody the diverse spirit of San Francisco. It’s not just a hacker house full of tech bros; it's a community where we've all learned from others with different backgrounds and gained a deeper understanding of the city from people who represent it in various ways. Interacting with these amazing individuals daily was an invaluable experience, something I couldn't have found elsewhere. Plus, this house is wonderfully international, with residents from all over the world—Germany, Ukraine, China, India, the UK, and Korea, where I’m from—making me feel like I truly belong here, never like an outsider. The house was full of laughter and warmth—everyone truly supported one another, brightening each other’s day. Personally, I grew a lot while receiving invaluable career mentorship from industry and community leaders (thank you, Kathy, Yiwei, Jan, Nav, and Rahul), sharing nightly laughs (thank you, Molly, Whitman, Dylan, and Austin!), and getting lifelong emotional support, like being invited to grab ice cream when I was feeling down or going for a walk to get some fresh air (thank you, Josh, Bihan, Nav, and Lana!). I had good friends before, but I can't think of anyone better than this group; I enjoyed and appreciated spending time with each and every one of them. I will never forget the moments I had in this house. If I could, I wouldn’t want to move out. That’s how much I loved this house and the people here. But life moves on, and even though I didn’t expect it to come so quickly, my time to move out has now arrived. This experience has inspired me to dream of creating my own co-living space someday and to continue building friendships like those I made here throughout the rest of my life. These 8 months of co-living have truly changed my vision, values, and how I see the world. Thank you to each and every one of you, and to 908, for giving me the best memories during my time here. A special thank you to Josh—none of this would have been possible without you. I was truly impressed by your dedication to this place and community—not just because you quickly responded to house maintenance issues, but also for giving up your spot for a housemate to go to Muir Woods, cleaning the kitchen without a single complaint, and sharing your genuine smile when you saw people having fun. I can't wait to see where you all and 908 land next—see you all very soon! 😊❤️
I stayed at 908 for a month when I first moved to SF as a college new grad, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The location is great, super close to many restaurants in Chinatown and North Beach, and it’s a nice walk to Financial District, where I work. All the common areas are kept very clean, which is so important when so many people are sharing the space. The community is unbeatable. I loved hanging out in common spaces and going on random adventures with other people in the house. I went to many new restaurants, hikes, went out, explored neighborhoods I’ve never been to with 908 people. I’ll miss hanging out with everyone I’ve met there, and I’d highly recommend this place if you’re looking to meet cool people from all over :)
I lived in 908 for 8 weeks and had a great experience! Community of people are so welcoming and fun. Josh is the best landlord I've had yet; he is very on top of any maintenance needs (which are infrequent) and makes an effort to make sure everyone feels at home. The shared spaces are very clean, and the backyard and living room are homey. Overall, highly recommend to anyone young and new to the city
I didn’t know anyone when I moved to San Francisco so I decided to try out this coliving. cleaners come to clean the kitchen twice per week and bathrooms once per week so there are never roomate arguments over who isn’t doing their fair share of cleaning. Trust me, the peace of mind over not having to worry about communicating with roomates who aren’t keeping spaces clean is priceless. Another thing I really like is not having to think about buying supplies or remembering to pay utilities. Everything is included.
Stayed at 908 for 8 months just to save some money but left with lifelong friends - I’m incredibly grateful to have lived here. 908 is a really unique space with lots of amenities (personally I made good use of the sauna and exercise equipment), and a community of young and ambitious adults from all around the world. Josh, the owner, has a great blend of friendliness and professionalism and he is quick to address any concerns or issues. It may be slightly more expensive than some of the other colivings but it is for good reason: 908 definitely offers the premium coliving experience in San Francisco. You shouldn’t overthink this one, you will be happy at 908!
I strongly recommend 908 for 3 reasons. 1. Community of like-minded people 2. Quality of bedroom, kitchen and common spaces(co-working, lounge) 3. Easy access to Chinatown town, and downtown I stayed 908 for a whole month of April. It's the best fulfilled month with the authentic friendship and empowerment of community of like-minded people. Especially I met with international founders coming from UK, EU, other countries, and share the information of investment, immigration, etc. That's so helpful. Also Josh, the owner of 908, hosted some events(Yoga and body workout) every Saturday and Sunday. It's also helps me to have a habit of maintaining my body health. As for a quality of living, it's amazing. I booked at a shared-room. If I need a call at night, I used a co-working space underground and the table next to the kitchen. Lastly, it's 5 mins walk from china town and 20 mins bike to go to downtown. Enough convenient and very safe.
