We had an amazing time at birds of paradise. It was our first time but definitely not our last visit. We are already looking forward to coming back. Vanessa and Dick are such great hosts and good people. You can see the love they've put in every detail of the beautiful house and apartments. The breakfast was the best start into the day full of surfing and exploring the beautiful beaches around. Thanks for everything! See you soon - Samy & Flo
We had a excellent stay at Birds of Paradise. Communication and welcoming was perfect. The rooms and the whole building is very nice decorated with a nice personal and relax style. The room, bed and shower were all good. The pool, inside and outside area are very nice and clean. Breakfast and service were great. Chilling vibe and we would definitely would come back and recommend this place.
I can’t recommend this hotel enough! Staying here was the best decision and truly the best place to stay in the Aljezur area. Everything exceeded my expectations! The rooms and facilities are spotless, the breakfast is amazing, and the pool with its stunning surroundings is just incredible.🥰
Vanessa and Dick, the owners, are wonderfully down-to-earth and the best hosts you could ask for. Their attention to detail is clear in every aspect of the place, making it absolutely perfect.

We had a dream vacation at Birds of Paradise! The house is beautiful, extremely clean, and every room smells wonderful. Vanessa and Dick are incredible hosts who do everything they can to make us feel at home and provide us with information (both during our stay and for the rest of our road trip in Portugal!). They created a warm, friendly, sporty, and very pleasant atmosphere in their home!
The location is also exceptional, with beautiful beaches nearby and surf lessons organized by Vanessa and Dick.

I stayed one week at Birds of Paradise and had the best time. The room was super comfortable, the breakfasts delicious, the swimming pool, garden and terrasse are amazing to rest and relax.
Dick and Vanessa are fantastic hosts. They have created a happy place which feels like a paradise where you can meet other guests or enjoy quiet time on your own.
I also enjoyed the yoga classes, and their great tips for local activities and restaurants.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars!
Our stay at Birds of Paradise was truly special, definitely thanks to the amazing hospitality of Dick and Vanessa. Dick’s surf tips made catching the local waves a blast, and Vanessa’s overall advice on the best restaurants and what to do in the area helped so much! Their house (and swimming pool!) is absolutely gorgeous. The location is unbeatable—just minutes from some of the best surf spots in the area. Last but not least, we looked forward to their delicious homemade breakfast, which was the perfect start to our day. Big thanks for making us feel welcome: we’ll be back for sure ❤️🏄♂️
The Birds of Paradise House is truly an amazing find! Vanessa and Dick together with the helping hands in the house are extremely friendly and do not hesitate to help in any circumstance. The room was spacious and clean. So is the commonly shared space in the house. The breakfast is a lovely selection of vegetarian (which I really appreciate) local goods. The surrounding offers a lot of activities and necessary places like restaurants and a supermarket. They also have an arrangement with a local surf school and can provide contact.
