We had a wonderful stay at Birds of Paradise and would definitely recommend it.
The owners are incredibly warm and welcoming, making you feel less like a guest and more like you're staying with friends. The whole place is beautifully designed, very aesthetic, thoughtfully decorated and kept spotlessly clean.
The shared space and coworking area are great, and the breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning. The service was excellent throughout our stay – whenever we needed something or had a question, we always received a kind and helpful response.
The only thing to keep in mind is that having a rental car is definitely recommended if you want to explore the area comfortably.

I spent a week here on a solo surf trip and could not have asked for a better base. Dick and Vanessa, the hosts, along with Sarah and Lindi who work here, were all incredibly warm and welcoming. From the very first moment I felt completely comfortable.
The lodge was spotlessly clean and beautifully kept, and the whole team went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed, from settling in to figuring out where to surf. The location is perfect if you want easy access to the surf along the coast, with plenty of spots within a short drive depending on the conditions.
The breakfast and soaps were all organic and very nice which was a cool extra.
If you are looking for a relaxed, genuinely friendly place to stay on the west coast, this is it. I will definitely be back!

Birds of Paradise is an amazing place, beautifully decorated, quite, where we felt at home during our stay in Algarve. Vanessa and Dick are very friendly and welcoming, they gave us a lot of useful tips and information. It’s very close to a great surfing spot, which is really cool, and after surfing you can relax by the pool. Last but not least : the breakfast is unreal !!

This stay was truly amazing. Our room was wonderful, and the beds were incredibly cozy — the kind that make you never want to leave in the morning. The surroundings were peaceful and quiet, creating the perfect atmosphere to relax and slow down. One of the most special moments was listening to the birds singing in the evening — it felt like a little paradise hidden away from the world.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious and lovingly prepared, with something different to enjoy every day. The location itself has everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay.
Vanessa and Dick are such warm and welcoming hosts. Their kindness and genuine hospitality made us feel completely at home and wonderfully cared for from the very first moment.
As someone who works in hospitality myself, I can honestly say that I highly recommend this beautiful place. It is a small paradise filled with peace, warmth, and the beautiful songs of nature. :)
I loved my stay at Birds of Paradise! Vanessa and Dick are super welcoming and make you feel at home right away. I had great chats with the other guests, the yoga was fun and relaxing, and the homemade veggie food was just perfect. Such a peaceful spot to slow down, connect, and recharge.
Dick & Vanessa have had me and my partner stay twice over the last few months and both times consistently exceeded our expectations in the service and hospitality we have received. Beyond those things they are fantastic people and their willingness to help and guide your choices during your time in Aljezur is absolutely second to none. We had an amazing time at birds of paradise. It was our first time but definitely not our last visit. We are already looking forward to coming back. Vanessa and Dick are such great hosts and good people. You can see the love they've put in every detail of the beautiful house and apartments. We had a excellent stay at Birds of Paradise. Communication and welcoming was perfect. The rooms and the whole building is very nice decorated with a nice personal and relax style. The room, bed and shower were all good. The pool, inside and outside area are very nice and clean. Breakfast and service were great. Chilling vibe and we would definitely would come back and recommend this place.
