I was lucky to have a whole 6-bed dorm on the first floor just for myself, so I was very happy. It was quiet (also in the building), the bed was comfy and the bathrooms clean. But I guess it is much more busy during the high season and the experience would for sure differ. The kitchen had all the necessary amenities but there was old food everywhere and I couldn't understand if I might use any of it (like spices, for example) Just two things upset me: 1. The price on their website was 16 euros. I tried to make the reservation but it kept kicking me out. So, I decided to go directly to the hostel and book it on the spot. The price was 20 euros. Why the difference? The girl lowered it to 19. The price on the website should match the one in the hostel. 2. "RENTING" a towel - 4 euros! I've been to 3 other Pousadas and the towels were always provided. I find it ridiculous.
This hostel was one of the better one’s I’ve stayed at. It was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Diogu was an absolute gem and persevered through our countless ridiculousness with a smile on his face. He was hustling through the night and we couldn’t believe he was there in the morning! Someone should probably give him a raise. Thanks Diogu! The room was west facing and was really hot when we checked in, and the AC unit didn’t work that great. Otherwise, would stay again.
I will not recommend staying here as a family with a baby. We stayed here with our 7 month old daughter and was placed in a "Family Room" right above the bar/restaurant where music was playing extremely loud from 19:00 to 23:00 as they was having a concert. We could fell the bass in our body, and could not fall asleep. We was informed about this when we arrived, however, we would have appricated a notice about this before our arrival so we could have booked another place. Staff is friendly, food is average, rooms are fairly clean, and the price is good. I would recommend for a young person, but definitely not for a family.
After spending 10 days in the hostel, the only thing I can say is: Thank you, Valentina! She turned our low-cost stay into a 5-star stay. From greeting us with a smile every morning at breakfast and having a small chat, to sharing tips about how things work and what to do around Arrifana, so we could make the most of this great location. Valentina always goes the extra mile to make sure you have the best time! The beds are comfortable, and the burgers at the bar are delicious!
I had and amazing stay at this hostel! What truly made the experience special was Valentina. She went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt at home. From the moment I arrived, she greeted me with a warm smile and helpful tips about the city. Throughout my stay, she was always available to answer questions, recommend local spots, or just have a nice chat. You can tell she genuinely cares about the guests and puts a lot of heart into her work. Thanks to Valentina, the hostel felt more like a home than just a place to sleep. I’d definitely come back — and I hope she’s still there when I do.
I didn’t really enjoy my stay here. Unfortunately, when I arrived around 3–4 pm, the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Really dirty. For the size of the hotel and the number of guests, I think they need a higher level of maintenance. Honestly, it was pretty repulsive. That said, the common areas are beautiful and very well maintained. The rooms were fine, and the beds were comfortable. Since the hotel is a bit far from the beach and restaurants, they provide breakfast, which was excellent. Lots of variety, definitely a big plus. They also offer a few items for lunch and dinner. However, their so-called falafel burger was awful. Just because something is made with chickpeas doesn’t make it a falafel. On the positive side, the staff was very kind and helpful. And the next morning, the bathrooms had been cleaned and were in much better shape. Still, it’s disappointing that at certain times of the day, the cleanliness is allowed to slip so badly.
Amazing hostel with great and warm atmosphere. The sunset events create great memories. Wagner was very helpful, such a nice guy!!
