They saved our lives, when we came as stranded people because we couldn’t land in Funchal. Even tough not a single bed was available on the island (even hotels called and asked for capacities because about six planes could land in Funchal and go to Porto Santo) they made it possible for us to sleep there. Some of the nicest people I ever met. Obregado!!! 🫶🏼
Great hotel and hostel! The room are very fonctionnal and the standards are very high. The facilities are so good for holidays offering beach gear and games. It’s located by the beach ( 5 minutes ) and the scenery is just wonderful! The staff is really taking care of its customers at any time and make sure the stay is perfect. The manager is always reactive and available either for tours advice or infos on the island. I strongly recommend this place
Very welcoming place to stay.
5mins on foot from the best beach on the island Calheta. Great cafe/restaurant there too.
But note other than the above there are no amenities in walking distance. Good bus service though
Love this hostel!!
Super clean, amazing kitchen and very nice common areas.
Thank you to Orlanda, Solange, Nuno and especially Sofia.
Be sure to do the snorkeling tour offered by the hostel as well.
Stayed here for quite a while. It's perfect to calm down and chill and even to work. Not much happening around here as it's the end of the island. Don't book this place if you want to party.
All staff is very friendly (Solange, Orlanda, Nuno & Sophia). Kitchen is well equipped and the property offers many places to hang out. Will get back here one day 🙂
I was here in December so can’t imagine how it is during the busier months, but my experience was 100% positive.
Sofia is the star of the show. She is so hospitable, helpful, and kind. She communicated with me before I arrived and was very thorough during my stay. I felt like I had a friend in Porto Santo!
I got the room with the private balcony and it was perfect. Very spacious bathroom for whatever reason. Towels and coffee/tea were provided. Lots of wardrobe space. Big working desk. Comfy bed. 1000% happy with it.
Common space was also welcoming. Maybe the furniture could use some younger vibe. The whole hostel is extremely clean.
The cleaning staff were also super kind and helpful. Always had a smile on them even though they don’t speak English and I don’t speak Portuguese, but they were eager to help me when I needed. It was fun to use lots of body language!
I was going to do a tour but it was understandably canceled, so can’t comment on that. But I rented an e-bike from the hostel and it was a good choice for going to the viewpoints. You don’t need a car.
Taxi costs €15 from the port. Buses take longer, is much cheaper (€3) but you’ll still have to walk a bit. Do with that info what you will. Ask Sofia to help reserve a taxi ride. I was so seasick from the cruise so taking the taxi was a no brainer.
NOTE: the only cons I would say is that the hostel is “far” from the supermarkets, restaurants, etc. so you’ll need to prep in advance.
