Swap your city life, ditch the concrete — for birdsong and fresh air at your window.
A rural workation at a coliving space is a genuinely significant lifestyle upgrade. Combining facilities to do remote work with shared meals, activities and nature — get back your balance, sparking creativity amongst a global family who'll share the experience. Trade burnout for flow, to find what life feels like when work and well-being come together. Even if only for 2 weeks, you'll be back!
The benefits of a rural co-workation:
- Genuine community the moment you arrive
- Skip awkward networking events and step into a house where family dinners, skill shares, and fireside chats foster deep, lasting friendships and exchange.
- Effortless work-life balance
- Swap from a productive workday to communal sunset drinks, stargazing, or spontaneous weekend road trips with fellow housemates.
- Focus with few distractions
- Escape urban friction and overload, diving into meaningful, deep work surrounded by peaceful views and a quiet countryside environment.
- Designed for rustic work
- Enjoy the best of both worlds — historic buildings and mountain chalets equipped with gigabit fiber and ergonomic chairs.
- Meaningful local immersion
- Live alongside locals, supporting family-owned bakeries and producers, to experience genuine regional hospitality that tourist hubs can't offer.
- Natural daily wellness
- Weave mid-day mountain hikes, river swiming, yoga on the terrace, or orchard walks into your work schedule to stay energized and inspired.
Not all spaces in this list offer all these things, so choose what you think will work best for you.

follow WhatsApp channelWhat to look for:
- Connectivity and ergonomics
- Fiber or Starlink internet, proper ergonomic seating, and private call areas/booth or a bedroom desk. Countryside charm shouldn't mean dropping call quality with clients, but if you can take your calls from the garden then you really should.
- Day-to-day needs are covered
- Can you reach the shops, markets, bakeries, … by foot, transit, the hosts arrange a trip or provide a bike/car, else supermarkets may deliver — though rather nicer having a local market.
- Community facilitation
- Having somebody who helps dynamise with structured community dinners, talks, and outings; versus self-organised, quieter spaces. Read reviews to see if the house culture is more focused/cozy or active/social.
- Immersion and impact
- Spaces that also collaborate with the local community, buy from surrounding producers, host cultural exchanges, and other activities/programs. These have a far richer experience than bubbles of .
- Minimum stays
- Avoid the tourists — spaces requiring 2+ weeks encourage better connection, making it easier to get to know everyone, and giving you a far better rhythm for focus.
It's for you if:
- A remote worker or freelancer
- Looking to break the isolation of working from home and trade city stress for tranquil productivity.
- A slow traveler or digital nomad
- Spending time in one place to really immerse yourself and get to know the place, creating deep connections instead of just hopping between cities and sights.
- A creative or entrepreneurial
- Seeking a peaceful atmosphere to work on projects, innovate, or launch new ideas alongside inspiring peers.
- An outdoor enthusiast
- Wanting to step out the door for access to trails, rivers, and fresh air, yet without being too isolated away from great people.
It's not for you if:
- You need bustle and nightlife
- Trips to the shops may be infrequent, group outings may be planned weekly, and the local cafe may be charmingly quiet. There'll very likely be no delivery apps! But it's quite plausible the group will occasionally plan a trip to town.
- You need your own space
- If you prefer solo travelling this may be hard for you to adapt to, even though you needn't participate in everything, and ensuites are often available, it's still a community space.
- You're constantly mobile
- Whilst you could hire a car and your fellow residents will love you if you share trips with them, you may otherwise be spending much time working and simply exploring closeby, except for the trips organised as a group which is the most valuable.
