Honest Review for Those Considering Staying at This Property
1.Cooking is prohibited even though there’s a kitchen
There is a kitchen, but guests are not allowed to cook their own meals.
Since the nearest proper supermarket is about a 40-minute walk one way, it’s practically impossible to live here without buying the meals prepared by the host.
This rule is mentioned in text on their website — but then why don’t they include the meal cost in the rent?
As other reviewers have also pointed out, this feels like a misleading business practice.
2.The rent is $370/month — not cheap for Kutaisi — but the house is very old and unfinished
I stayed in a room with a shared toilet. During the day, I could use the downstairs toilet, but at night it was locked, and I had to use the one outside, which is extremely cold during the winter
The heater wasn’t working during my stay, so the nights were freezing.
The curtains didn’t fit the window size, which caused privacy issues, and there was a door without a lock leading outside, making the room quite insecure.
The Wi-Fi was also unstable — at night, I couldn’t do my work because the connection kept dropping.
In addition, there were lots of barking dogs at night (not sure if they were strays or owned), so it was very noisy.
If you plan to stay here, I recommend getting a rabies vaccination just in case.
If the room were cheap, I wouldn’t complain — but at $370, you can rent a newly built or recently renovated 1BR apartment in central Kutaisi.
Considering the living conditions, it’s really not worth the price.
There were so many issues that I could only stay for one night. When I asked for my deposit back, they just kept saying, I’m just making excuses. “It’s written on the page, so no refund,” and didn’t return even half
A wonderful place for peaceful work surrounded by nature. The coliving is located in a village, surrounded by forest. The entire area is green, and the coworking space has panoramic windows. A minibus goes to Kutaisi every hour — just 15 minutes and you’re in the city. Taxis are also inexpensive, around 10 GEL. The city offers plenty of activities — sights, bars, restaurants, gyms, and a swimming pool. The hosts are warm and welcoming, and the homemade food is delicious. There are many forest trails for hiking, and the nature is simply beautiful — mountains around the village, silence, and crystal-clear air. A perfect place for those who value homey comfort and connection with nature.
I’m not the fastest when it comes to processing experiences haha. I usually need time to reflect and integrate everything, especially when traveling and constantly taking in new impressions. But spending three weeks at this coliving was truly special, and I loved every single moment.
The balance between community, work, and private space was just perfect for me. It all felt very natural, I could join whatever I felt like, and if I was tired or simply wanted to skip something, that was totally fine too. I really appreciated that there weren’t constant organized programs, instead, things often happened spontaneously so there was space for recommendations and wishes. Still, mornings and evenings were usually spent together like a little family, always connected by delicious food.
Nature is literally right there in the garden, so you can slip out for a short walk between meetings anytime. Kutaisi is close, taxis are easy and affordable and it’s super convenient to reach nearby hiking spots or even Tbilisi and Batumi. There’s also a pretty active expat community around so if you’re traveling solo and want to connect, you won’t feel alone.
I can’t wait to come back and reunite with you guys. 🫶🏼
Awesome location in a quint village just 8km outside Kutaisi. The owners are very hospitable and serve amazing coffee. They immediately make you feel at home. Here is good internet and this is ideal for a young solo traveler seeking community and a dun time in Georgia.
I stayed at Gumbrini for a month, and honestly, it felt like home 💚 One of the rare place i found that just gets everything right.
The hosts, Irina and Igor, are incredible — so warm and thoughtful 🙌
Super peaceful environment with a cozy coworking space - perfect for work 💻
They cooked amazing food every day, and as a vegetarian, I really appreciated how they took care of my diet 🥗
The forest in the backyard is just beautiful - amazing for quick walks🌲
The community here was amazing - I met so many like-minded people and made real, close friends 🤝✨
We had fun activities almost every other day - board games, darts, BBQ nights, pulav parties, hiking and expat gatherings 🎯🎲🔥
Lots of cats around (especially my favourite, Lucia ❤️) 🐱
Public transport stops right outside, which made getting around super easy 🚌
Tskaltubo, with all its Soviet-era sanatoriums is just nearby at walking distance, worth a visit 🏛️
If you're a remote worker or traveler looking for focus, calm, nature, and a great community - this place is a gem 💫
A peaceful place to reset, focus and breathe
I stayed at Gumbrini for 8 days and it was exactly what I needed. The quiet, natural setting helped me find a good rhythm, I was able to get my work done, meditate more regularly, and even cut out drinking and fast a little, which left me feeling lighter and more clear-headed by the end of my stay.
The coworking space is well thought out, with peaceful views and plenty of room to concentrate. It’s about a 40-minute walk into town, which I came to enjoy, a good chance to stretch your legs and reflect. Along the way you pass a few abandoned buildings with a bit of a ‘Last of Us’ feel, haunting, but interesting.
Despite the calm vibe, you’re not cut off. I met some lovely people here, just the right amount of connection without the full-on “digital nomad social” thing. There are shared dinners, a few board games at night, and a brilliant BBQ or two courtesy of Igor, who really knows his way around a grill. Irina was warm and thoughtful too. And of course, the animals, seven cats and a gentle dog that pops by, really make the place feel like home.
The dorm is comfortable, the facilities are easy to use (including laundry), and the setting is ideal for weekend trips, the Prometheus Cave and Martvili Canyon are both doable day trips.
I’ll definitely be back on my way through again, it’s the kind of place that quietly leaves a mark on you. Highly recommended if you’re looking for focus, balance, and just a bit of fresh air in every sense.
What a lovely co living
A paradise under construction
Fair price
Amazing hosts
Community vibe
A bit under construction
Would recommend booking the more expensive rooms (that are attached to the co working) it is worth the extra cost!
I would definitely come back to this coliving!
Also note that while it is very remote, it is still very easy to get to the city by taxi or bus (both are very affordable 20 min drive)
