The ocean view rooms here are hard to beat with great sea views lovely modern decor strong showers and a huge bed. Garden view rooms also very nice.!But the standard rooms need improving I would not want to stay in one of them again.
Lovely pool with towels provided and a great menu plus cocktails on the roof terrace. The beach here isn’t the best but is good for surfers, lacks places to lie on sunbed etc.
Lots of digital nomads working here but also fine for non-workers.
My stay at Outpost Weligama was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome. The customer service was superb, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed.
The rooms and the entire property were impeccably clean, creating a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend Outpost Weligama to anyone looking for a wonderful and comfortable stay in Weligama. My heartfelt thanks to the entire team for making our time there truly memorable!
I had the incredible privilege of calling Outpost my co-working home for an extended 8-month stay, and it has truly been a game-changer for my work and well-being. The space, with its thoughtful design and utmost comfort, has undoubtedly set the bar high for co-working environments. The internet connection here is unrivaled, making it the go-to spot in Weligama for seamless work operations. The air-conditioned ambiance adds an extra touch of convenience, ensuring a productive and comfortable workday.
The cafe-restaurant is nothing short of exceptional, offering a high-quality menu with a delightful array of vegetarian options. The staff deserves special mention for their kindness and professionalism, creating a welcoming atmosphere that feels like a community. The added bonus of a swimming pool, coupled with numerous awesome events, makes the experience at Outpost truly unique.
And let's not forget the rooftop—oh, that breathtaking view of the ocean is the perfect backdrop to both work and unwind. Outpost, with its 'Live, Work, Surf' ethos, has seamlessly blended productivity with a laid-back coastal lifestyle. Grateful for the memories, the growth, and the incredible vibes. Highly recommend this co-working haven to anyone seeking a perfect blend of work and play in Weligama 🌊🏄♂️
I came to Sri Lanka for 5 weeks and needed to work in the co work space for 10 full UK hour days. The place is equipped with two air conned office spaces that comfortably fit 8 people in each room, one room you’re allowed to make calls, the other room is supposed to be silent work. There are also 3 meeting room booths for private calls. The cafe serves food and drinks all day. The WiFi is reliable and fast enough for video calls.
There are proper office chairs but the tables aren’t quite high enough to allow for a proper ergonomic experience. After the Christmas period the co work space was extremely busy, fitting 16 people in each room, the desks are not long enough to fit this many people comfortably especially if you have two screens which many people did have. Sometimes I didn’t find a space in there at all. The booths are also fully booked so you have to book in advance by a couple of days to ensure you get a space when you need it. The cafe is full to the brim with people working as well it makes me think they would be better off having good desks and air con in here too.
If you absolutely need good WiFi and air con and silent working this place is much more professional than anywhere else I could find locally. It’s just super busy unfortunately. The best option would be to stay here too so you can work privately in the hotel room.
From the very first moment I arrived the service here was incredible.
The team couldn’t have been lovelier, handing me a cold wet flannel and a delicious iced tea while they sorted everything for me.
The room itself was one of the nicest I stayed in with a super comfy bed, spacious ( very clean) bathroom and nice little sea view balcony.
Do watch out if you’re booking for the sea view specifically though as I was on the side of the building so it wasn’t really very direct. More like a bit of sea through the trees.
That being said, the roof terrace bar has an incredible view for sunset so you should just be up there anyway!
The pool was a bit small and with very little space for relaxing around but the general vibe of the place was lovely.
I’d say compared to most other places and the standard of food / drinks/ coffee etc you can get in Sri Lanka now, this place was super overpriced. The coffee wasn’t great and it seemed a little bit like they were just profiting from the captive audience of co-workers. But purely as a guest I couldn’t help feeling like I was being a little ripped off when I realised the standard (for example Nomad breakfast/ coffee) I could get just down the road.
The other key thing to say is location wise, this is up the far end of the bay, which most tuktuk drivers refused to accept was still Weligama and without fail would always demand extra money for. So if a more central location is key for you then bear this in mind.
That being said, this also gets you out of the madness of the central bay which is FULL of surf schools. So for me, this was a bonus.
All in all, super lovely, clean place run by really really friendly and helpful staff. Just a few niggles and the food & drink prices unjustifiably high for what it was.
