🧐 touristsAllows short stays. This may not be a concern for a workation, but goes against the coliving principle of purposeful exchanges amongst residents, reducing cohesion. What is coliving?
Not your typical coworking space. But a place to create, explore and feel.

It is a place where one can have both relax and find inspiration for ongoing or future projects. If you are looking for a place to feel the nature and at the same time be close enough to Sofia that is where you should go! Definitely a must visit!
Absolutely loved the atmosphere and the style of this place 😍 there are so few places in Bulgaria, that are so nicely decorated, let alone the surrounding nature. We were welcomed with such a hospitality and ended up chatting with the host for hours. I highly recommend!
Very cousy place.
My stay at Zelen House in Bulgaria was distressing. Initially, things were fine, but the situation escalated unexpectedly, leading to a breakdown in trust and a feeling of being unsafe.
My stay at Tsvetina's co-living space, Zelen House, in rural Bulgaria was distressing. Having traveled to over 25 countries and lived in countless places, I have never encountered anything like this.
Initially, my stay was fine. I arrived around April 18 and stayed until May 11. During this time, I was able to work in peace as the place was quiet. However, things took a dramatic turn when I lost my debit card, which I rely on for its zero foreign transaction fees. Initially, Tsvetina seemed understanding. However, the next day, she accused me of lying about my finances. Her accusations were baseless and shattered any trust I had in her. Then, she gave me just 20 minutes to pack all my belongings and leave, despite us celebrating my birthday together the day before.
Tsvetina, who claims to be a psychologist and loves to "read people," used this to justify her erratic behavior, making wild accusations without any basis in reality. Her behavior quickly escalated from unreasonable to dangerous. When I mentioned contacting my embassy because I no longer felt safe, she and her friend Kolio physically prevented me from using my phone and called the police, filing a false report in Bulgarian—a language I do not speak. This experience made me feel utterly helpless and terrified.
Zelen House is in the middle of nowhere, near Botevgrad, a small town in Bulgaria. The only way to get there is by car; there are no public transportation options. As a tourist without a car, I discussed this with Tsvetina before arriving. She assured me I could book a cab from Sofia, and she promised to either drop me at a nearby bus station or book a cab for my departure. When she kicked me out at 8 PM, I was stranded with no transportation options. Fortunately, a kind couple heading to Sofia offered me a ride, or I would have been left homeless. Tsvetina showed no consideration for my safety.
The house had significant safety issues, including exposed water leaks near a high-wattage air conditioner during heavy rains. These hazards were concerning in the coworking room, where valuable laptops and other expensive equipment are kept. I have attached photos of these issues. Initially, I thought she would address them, but now I don't believe it. Given her readiness to threaten me with the police, I see no reason to hold back. If she didn’t hesitate to threaten me, why should I not expose these serious safety concerns?
Financially, I had paid for more but only stayed for 23 nights, resulting in an overpayment of 160 Lev. Tsvetina refused to return my overpayment. For context, I make a comfortable salary, so the money itself is not significant, but the refusal to refund and accusing me of things I didn’t do demonstrated a lack of fairness.
When I suggested using PayPal or Wise to settle any remaining balance, Tsvetina dismissed these options without consideration. It was challenging to have a rational conversation or resolve the situation peacefully when she wouldn’t even bother listening and said she "could see the bigger picture."
Throughout my extensive travels, I have always managed to navigate challenges, but this experience was beyond anything I had faced. Despite working many hours a week, I am willing to hire lawyers and take legal action against her if necessary, to prevent others from experiencing this ordeal. Tsvetina, who is also a lawyer, felt very comfortable using her understanding of the system to threaten me.
I urge anyone considering staying at this co-living space to think twice. Despite my extensive travel experience, I have never felt so unsafe and mistreated. For your peace of mind and safety, avoid this place at all costs. If you need further confirmation, check my review history. I am attaching photos to substantiate my claims.
Authenticity, magic, welcoming hosts, delicious food, private coworking spots, cosy rooms, but most importantly, there is a vibrant community and special, personal touch in everything ❤️🙏
A great place to get away from your daily routine. You can work in focus, relax in the picturesque yard and meet like-minded people, but coming from different backgrounds. It's close to Sofia and Tsveti, the host is incredible in her willingness and abilities to create communities.
