Stephanie was very friendly and checked in frequently to make sure my use of the space was going well. I was surprised to find that there were some semi-secluded desks where I could take video calls without having to rent a private office which was very useful. The large AC worked well but don't expect to be cold in there. The WiFi had zero problems which was my main concern while living in Samara for a week. The bathrooms are a part of the larger building and not the best (lacking paper towels) but for a short stay were manageable. The vibe inside was quiet and respectful so I was actually able to get work done. If I'm ever back here I'll definitely rent another week in the space. Thank you Stephanie!
Oh, what an amazing place to visit for a digital nomad.
I just spent a month and a half here and I felt very well taken care of by the owners
It was everything as promised and some more: very spacious, well equipped, clean and welcoming studio for me to live. Great facilities to work with a high internet, great coffee and private booths for your calls
Stephanie helped me to organize tours, kept me informed of fun things going on in the town and was there to answer any questions even before I knew I had them.
Can't recommend it high enough!
I absolutely loved my stay at Locoworking. The studio was so clean, comfortable and well-equipped, and the coworking space was fantastic. It had very strong wifi, free coffee, AC, and was well structured with reservable meeting rooms as well as open work spaces.
Stephanie was a wonderful host! She was so responsive and helpful, and even organized social moments for the coworkers to meet. I would definitely recommend staying and hope to come back someday!
This was a lovely space to live, work and play (surf) for the week in Samara. The studio was very well equipped with a small kitchen area so I could cook and plenty of space to relax. You're right above the Roots bakery and I was waking up to the smell of sweet cinnamon buns every morning. The coworking space was close by and was a great place to get work done. I also appreciated the lock box for the key because I could go surfing without worrying about losing the key.
Stéphanie was also great host. She communicated well and was very responsive to my needs. She also provided recommendations of things to do around Samara during my stay. Would highly recommend!
Great wifi and place to work, especially for digital nomads, entrepreneurs, or anyone working while travelling. The rates are very reasonable, coffee is available, as well as fans to keep you cool while you work, and there are rooms that you can reserve for additional privacy. Stephanie (the host) is also very friendly. All in all, I’d strongly recommend coming here when you’re in Samara. I can’t wait to be back!
I do not recommend a membership here. I have used dozens of coworking spaces around the world, and this is the first one I have had a bad experience with. The owner is unreasonable, rude, and dishonest. We paid $680 for the month with the promise of air conditioning from 8am-5pm in November. Partway through our membership the owner decided to change the AC coverage and lied saying that it had never been available til 5 in November. When I forwarded her the message where she promised the availability til 5 starting November 1st, she replied that she "already told me she changed the rules," and did not care when I told her I had scheduled clients til 7pm due to the previously promised AC coverage. The limited air conditioning availability makes 24/7 access useless, as there are no windows you can open and a lot of glass, so it basically becomes a greenhouse. I did not see others using the 24/7 access because of this, yet 24/7 access is advertised as if it is a viable offer.
The owner was unreasonable when it comes to communication. Passwords for all 4 networks are changed regularly, which would be fine if the owner made any effort to communicate this with members. Instead, one day I arrived at the office and even though I chatted with her before I began my meetings, she did not alert me to the change of passwords and I had no way of knowing because the sign that states so is not near my office. Because she did not let me know or send a message in the group chat, it was not until I was mid-meeting and numerous networks were not working, that I realized all of the passwords had been changed, causing my meeting to drop 3 times for several minutes within an hour. I later politely requested that we be notified when passwords are changed in the future, and she condescendingly replied that if I had important meetings, "it's always advisable to prepare and anticipate its arrival, here as elsewhere".
Although I had a month-long membership for a private office, the doors remained labeled as if they were all available for reservation, so someone walked in my office during a very private meeting, startling my client. When I expressed that the rooms should have better signs to prevent this confusion, the owner did not apologize or offer to fix the problem, and instead repeatedly insisted that I tell her who walked in the wrong office so she could blame them.
On a less important level, the owner over-charges for usage of extra amenities and is stingy on basic ones, even for members paying a substantial fee. A month-long rental of a computer monitor is the same price as buying a brand-new monitor in town. Printing out even one black-and-white page as a member is extremely expensive. There were no napkins or paper towels, nor a water pitcher or jug in the kitchenette area.
This place is fine if you're only looking for a spot to grab some wifi for a few days, but I would advise against depending on it for anything more. I came to Samara hoping to become a member for at least 6 months, but due to my negative experiences, I have had to figure out a different way to work.
The wifi is good. The working space is ok, nothing to write home about, with experiences in Madeira and in other digital nomad communities and working spaces, this one falls short. We would not recommend staying in the apartments! Bad experience. It takes 5-7 mins to walk to the beach. We can imagine that Samara 10 years ago was probably much nicer than it is today.
