Beautiful, rustic, elemental venue surrounded by water and built around an old mill. The newly renovated barn and grounds create some lovely spaces to explore or celebrate in. The stream that runs around both sides of the estate has some cute bridges and creates a pretty dynamic that feels special and refreshing. The team at Selgars are friendly and accommodating and the rooms are an ideal fit for the Mill's unique style. It's a wonderful place that's flexible enough that you can make it your own.
Stunningly beautiful, peaceful and transformative Selgars is a retired watermill, it is completely surrounded by either the mill leat or river. The sound of water both inside and outside acts as natural white-noise imparting an almost spiritual ambience to the whole place. Even inside, especially downstairs, you can always hear water, a natural and peaceful white noise. The place has been restored to reveal oak timbers everywhere giving it warmth and despite the water all around, it feels cosy and dry inside. Some of the rooms don't have en-suite bathrooms but somehow I didn't seem to mind. The grounds are extensive and gorgeous with woods, wonderful trees, extensive lawn areas and of course water. It is also SO wonderful to find a business working so hard to be in-step with nature. The people are ace (although disclaimer, I'd call Anton a friend after this weekend - that obviously says something).
Stayed at Selgars for their SOMOS embodied leadership retreat hosted by Anton, Kasia and Mo. Hands down the best learning experience in the most magical surroundings.Selgars wraps its arms around you in a big warm nature filled and community centred hug. It is a place for wandering and wondering, reflecting and connecting, laughing and learning. Can’t wait to return - thank you for this transformative experience!
Stayed at Selgars for their coliving program and loved the warm and calm vibes. Mo and Anton created a space that made me feel at home from day 1 - inspiring and welcoming crowd, family dinners, movie nights. Best way to spend the rainy February.
Lovely space in the English countryside to connect to self, others and nature. Anton, Mo and Zuko are great hosts and it's absolutely worth staying there for coliving, retreats and more!
