I attended the 1st Festival sur la Branche in Commes and I had a great time 😁😁 over 2 days, you will eat there, you will do a lot of things there and above all you will listen to good music, that of our region! But not only... Jazz but not only... To discover 😁☀️🎶🎼
An unusual place that deserves to be discovered as the approach is interesting because it is positively geared towards cooperation and sharing.
The place is, however, managed by an association whose resources remain limited. The work is carried out in stages and certain installations are sometimes very dilapidated (sanitary facilities, kitchen, decoration). On the other hand, the frames and bedding are recent, which confirms the association's intention to renovate and ensure the comfort of its gîte as soon as it has the financial and human resources.
Gîte set up on a farm in the countryside, in a quiet area.
Gîte very ideally located near Port and Bessin, on the VéloMaritime as well as on the GR coastal path. Departmental bus stop in the immediate vicinity for direct access to Bayeux as well as Omaha Beach/Colleville and Pointe du Hoc.
The foodstuffs made available are helpful but they are not always of the latest freshness, especially vegetables.
Notable downside: cleanliness. The cleaning is not done carefully enough to make you feel really good.
The lodge is nice.
But I felt like I was staying with a local.
Because we share the common areas except bathroom/WC. With the owners, employees and volunteers. All these little people contradict each other about meals and I didn't understand and I didn't try to understand.
On vacation, we are not there to worry.
What is important to remember is that who are vegetarians, don't tell them that you are a carnivore and without a bike or car it's a hassle, don't rely on buses.
This accommodation is good for one or two nights. And take a padlock because everything stays open.
