A wonderful little place to stay just a short train ride away from Porto and with the most wonderful staff. I very much enjoyed my stay at Be Happy. What I needed most from this stay was a comfortable place to relax and work while exploring Porto as time allowed. Be Happy fit the bill perfectly. A couple of things to note before your stay so you are prepared:
- the walk from the train station is fairly easy but a bit long with luggage, Google Maps takes you a longer route. Exit the train station through the gate across from the station and take the elevated plank walkway across the marsh and into town for a quicker walk.
- the beds are very firm. If you prefer a soft mattress, you might want to consider a shorter stay.
- if the air conditioner in your room breaks and you need to have the window open at night, there is a decent amount of street noise. Not a deal breaker but good to know for a light sleeper.
- The rooms open directly to the living room/common area, which can also mean quite a bit of noise especially if other guests don’t observe the quiet hours, so ear plugs and/or a travel sound machine can be helpful.
Overall a wonderful place to stay, and I would stay here again.

The shower was fantastic hot and powerful!!!
The restaurant/ bar on the roof had great food- shrimp salad was super tasty and very reasonable
But best of all was Maria she is kind, caring and remembers the little details c that make you feel thought of

Stayed here after a long day of wet riding. Staff were so welcoming and accommodating, made sure i was ok and looked after me. Showers were great, beds were clean. Great vibes all round. I love it.

I stayed with BeHappy for around a week to come chase some waves and explore Portugal. Situated in a beautiful fishermen town where you can truly embrace the culture and step out of the fast life. It is a 20min bike ride away from esphino and if you do want to visit porto city - there’s a train.
The staff, services and quality of the rooms were above 5 star. Attentive, professional, clean and friendly.
I will definitely visit again.
I loved it and can highly recommend anyone traveling solo since they offer some nice activities and have great common areas to get to know other travelers. Was a super nice atmosphere.
Working from the coworking space was really convenient and the hostel was clean and had everything you needed. Also located very close to the beach, surf schools and restaurants. Hope to be back one day!
I didn't spend much time there. I had dinner on the beach, showered and slept one night at the lodge. It was a nice place, nice welcoming vibe, clean, parking just outside, easy check-in and communication with staff through WhatsApp. The dorm room could have more curtains or other things to lessen the sounds. I don't mind for myself (slept like a baby, first night after Boom Festival :)) but I had to repack my stuff early in the morning and I probably disturbed the other guests a bit. I will probably stay there again if I need an in-between place around Porto, or want to surf.
