Beautiful places to stay, designed for remote workers.

If you ever wondered how moving your normal life to a sunnier and warmer place would be, this is it. I could work, socialize, and relax equally well, or better, than back home in Sweden. The location and vibe are calm and remote but also filled with interesting people and happenings. The island is small but there is plenty to do after work and on weekends. It was warm and sunny in Nov/Dec when I was there and I think it's worth a visit every month of the year. I stayed for 5 weeks but could easily stay another 5.
I had the best experience at Outsite Madeira. For a coliving space it's a good balance between getting to meet people but also having your own space if you want it. The view of the sea and having the beach nearby is awesome. So many beautiful views and hikes on the island. Elisa does a great job as a community manager and there are always people to do things with. You definitely need a car to get around or you can just book the Outsite taxi driver if you're a big group of people. The A/C didn't work while I was there (we were given fans instead), but otherwise it was a great experience.
This was truly one of the best accommodations/and outsites that I've stay in. The location is unbeatable when you can leave your door open and listen to the sea while you sleep.
The rooms were clean, but dated. Outsite should listen to this and previous reviews and upgrade the bathrooms at the very least. The shared space is a tad small for working but the community co-working space is 2 mins away and free. And I had ample space in my room to work.
The highlight, aside from the view is Elisa and her staff. She bends over backwards to organize events and integrate the community with your stay. She is always on top of things and always providing a ton of information on any event happening in the community and the island. Truly one of the best.
A stay here is a must on Madeira. Oh and don't skimp on a car. It's necessary and cheaper than using ubers
Outsite Madeira was the perfect first Outsite experience for me - it had everything I thought I needed, and so much more. The location on the beach front in Ponta do Sol is perfect. Waking up to the sound of the waves and the view of the ocean was magical. The room size with the small balcony was perfect. There's plenty of space in the common area to hang out and work alongside each other, and there's a free coworking space just up the road as well.
But what made the stay so wonderful was Elisa, the community manager. As a local, she knows all the ins and outs and hidden gems of the island. Her suggestions were always spot on - hikes, spots to visit, restaurants and bars. You want it, she's got it!
The only thing I'd do differently next time is getting a car straight away! It makes everything so much easier (and cheaper... damn those taxi prices), and there is plenty of parking around! I never had a problem finding a parking spot.
I'd highly recommend it and I'm already planning a return visit.
Ponta do Sol is the best place to work remotely on Madeira Island. It's a very small yet beautiful village. You will be able to stay very focus during your working hours, while still being able to enjoy the incredible location of Outsite (right in front of the beach). No matter if you're working in the common area or in a cafè facing the beach, you will love it! Tired of working all day long? No problem, stay in touch with a quite big community of nomads all around the island. Enjoy a sunset workout with people from different areas, go for a hike or go party all together. I was there for a month, but will definitely come back to Outsite Ponta do Sol!
