This was just my second stay at Outsite, my first being Marrakech, but I enjoyed my stay here in Madeira more. I stayed at this Outsite to attend Nomad Island Fest, which it was perfectly located for. I loved facing the beach and ocean. The community manager Elisa makes a good effort to put on some activities during the week for colivers to meet and connect. I was happy with the Wifi and being able to go between working in my room or the coworking space downstairs. This is a good coliving that I'd happily return to, being reasonably priced as well.
The rumors are true, this is the best Outsite so far. Madeira is stunning, with breathtaking views everywhere you look. Ponta do Sol is small and charming but has everything you need: great restaurants, a nearby grocery store, and Funchal just a short drive away. Every hike was beautiful, and I could’ve easily stayed longer. And for tennis fans, there’s a dreamy ocean-view court just 10 minutes away where you can play at sunset.
The social atmosphere was incredible, thanks to Elisa and Bastien, our amazing community managers who truly make everyone feel at home. Can’t recommend this Outsite enough. It’s the perfect mix of nature, community, and pure island magic.
I absolutely loved my stay in Outsite Madeira — The social atmosphere was incredible, and that’s largely thanks to Elisa, the community manager. She’s amazing: always present, organising plans, connecting people, and creating such a warm, fun environment. The weekly coffee meetup on Mondays is such a great way to bring the whole house together, and from there we were doing things non-stop.
The group of people I met was amazing. We hiked, we explored, we laughed a lot — I had 10 days booked and genuinely wished I could have stayed a month.
Madeira itself is stunning, especially if you love hiking. The island is incredibly well-adapted for digital nomads, with a big sense of community and plenty of things to do during and after work. You can easily imagine staying here longer and feeling right at home.
Overall, a spectacular Outsite — both for the place and, especially, for the people.
As with any accommodation, three factors are paramount: location, location, location. Being right on the sea in this wonderful bay is simply fantastic! The open, family-like atmosphere is wonderful, and the events organized by Elisa are just superb – she does them very professionally, with a lot of heart and excellent coordination. Ponta do Sol is probably the sunniest spot on the island - perfect for OUTSITE and wonderful sunsets.
This Outsite trip was honestly one of my best experiences so far. The location was just perfect, the coliving space super comfortable, and the atmosphere made it so easy to feel at home. A special shoutout to Elisa, the amazing community manager, who made everything smooth and enjoyable. Couldn’t have asked for more... I’ll definitely be back! ✨
The location is incredible, right on the beach and walking distance to many restaurants and a small grocery store. I recommend getting a car to explore the entire island. Parking is tricky sometimes but never impossible. The rooms all have a balcony with a great view of the beach and sunset every day. The community was very active, social, and had many gatherings and events. I would definitely stay again.
I enjoyed my stay in the Madeira Outsite. Loved the generous and inclusive community; everyone felt welcome for all outings. My room was spacious and comfortable and had a killer view of the ocean. The bathroom was a nice size, and shower had consistently hot water and great water pressure as well. The co-working space was large with plenty of seating. The kitchen was a bit small for a group of this size, but it was manageable. Location is super safe and quiet. There is really good noise insulation from the outside streets; I was on the second floor and couldn't hear much street noise. I might recommend installing slow-close on the doors, as there was constant slamming of doors that echoed loudly due to all the tile.
The room for improvement: the beds were not comfortable at all, and I didn't sleep well my entire time in Madeira. It was like sleeping on a slab of wood-- very hard, and they were two beds pushed together to make a queen bed, so you could feel the crack in the middle. The pillows were also lumpy and uncomfortable, and the bed sheets were terrible. The fitted sheet came off every time I turned over (which was a lot due to the uncomfortable mattress/pillow situation), so I ended up getting up multiple times a night to try to tuck it back in. A foam mattress topper for the beds would go a long way in increasing the comfort level, as well as investing in decent pillows.
The location is very quiet and relaxing, but note that it's not very walkable. I was extremely lucky to have generous housemates who offered to drive us all for hikes and other adventures, but there are only a handful of restaurants and no shops/bars/etc nearby.
I would love to see an Outsite location open up in Funchal. The location in Ponta do Sol was lovely for a few days, but after a week was a bit too quiet and slow for me.
This was my second Outsite experience, and it truly exceeded expectations. From day one, the community made me feel at home, an amazing group of people who turned the stay into something special. The location itself couldn’t have been better: a former hotel right on the beachfront, with stunning ocean views. Add to that everything Madeira has to offer, lush nature, beautiful beaches, delicious food, and hikes that feel like walking through the clouds. And the week flew by far too quickly. I only wish I had stayed longer. Highly recommended!
