I spent a week here and felt at home from day one. Marie is a wonderful host — welcoming, attentive, and always happy to help. She regularly organises small gatherings for the guests, turning the stay into a social and friendly experience rather than just a place to sleep. The location is ideal: only 2 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from the main restaurants and bars. I really recommend this place especially if you are a solo traveller!
Bambú Corner is by far one of the best places you can end up in Puerto Escondido. Perfect location, nearby the beach, a supermarket, and walkable to the main street of La Punta. The rooms are beautiful and aesthetic, the beds and pillows are comfortable. Yes, is a eco-friendly co-living and by that you need to adjust to certain lack of commodities, but is nothing that you can not survive. The community is amazing, Marie is an incredible host, care about their guests and the environment.
Our stay here was unforgettable. The space is beautiful, welcoming, and full of intention. Marie’s commitment to the environment and the local neighborhood is inspiring🫶🏼. You really feel like your stay supports something meaningful. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Close to the busy part Punta, some coffee from the entrance coffeeshop and only a couple of steps away from the beach. Pure joy (including some dog and cat love😍). Recommended 100%
I stayed here for one month on a solo trip and had a fantastic experience. I felt welcomed in right away. There are six rooms in the coliving, and I met such great people who became friends I hung out with regularly. Bambú is in a great location - a 2 minute walk from the beach, in a more quiet area between La Punta and Tamarindo, easily accessible by walking from both of those areas. The space is beautiful and reflects Marie’s focus on sustainability - every room has its own dry toilet, fans instead of AC, conserving water, etc. There’s a rooftop with hammocks, and I loved laying up there at night with a gorgeous view of the stars! Marie is a very warm and sweet person, and she comes by the house near daily. She is always willing to help or provide local recommendations.
Centrally located wonderful culture and an amazing hostess. Marie was welcoming, informative, and exuberant about her creation. Natural, blending with the earth and space of the essence of Puerto Bambu corner is extraordinary. I woke up every morning in the canopy of the front yard mango tree. The breeze switched offshore every night, cool coming off of the mountains. The fan eased the heat of the day away as I slept unfettered for a month with distant memories of the cold winter weather. Fish tacos, cocos frios, spanish lessons, navigating international money transfer, sooo many sandy beautiful sunsets sometimes solo sometimes groups, same with meals and treats(banana bread master Marie!! :-) and perhaps an excursion per week available to waterfalls or a surf spot. Just Stellar. The only thing I really wanted for were perhaps a chair or part of the bench that had a back to it in the community space (stools?) but thats just because I wanted to keep chatting into the night with fellow travelers and plotting on the next thing to do. Marie and her space made for a truly magical unique experience
Vibe: Marie is very warm and welcoming and goes the extra mile to make you feel at home. She’s created a beautiful casa and community. The fundamentals: It’s in a great location - between Xicatela and La Punta. Kitchen is spacious and well equipped. Rooms are huge and it’s a very scenic.
We stayed there for a few days and it was very nice. The common area is really spacious and very beautifully made with plants everywhere. The rooms are lovely and the toilet system feels quite natural!! My highlight was definitely the little cat that was around :)
A home away from home. 🫶 The house is not only beautiful but also has inspiring sustainable values: like a roof garden, dry toilets, and a commitment to recycling. The rooms are very spacious and cosy, perfect to relax or work on the desk. You have your own space to isolate but you can socialise whenever you feel like it. I was supposed to stay for a month, but I ended up staying for three and made beautiful friendships and memories. Marie, the host, is simply amazing. She’s committed to making sure that everyone is has fun and feels welcome and at home. I highly recommend it. Thanks again Marie and see you soon!
