🏨 has short staysapartments also on tourist booking platforms · Fine for a workation, but high guest turnover works against coliving principles, reducing community cohesion. What is coliving?
The future is hybrid, so balancing work, life, travel, and leisure is crucial. Our accommodation belongs to a small community living concept for like-minded people to live, work, and play together.
Working is good, but our colivers must also feed their minds and body. Thus, we have developed fantastic activities, like barbecue parties, pizza tornados, board game challenges, darts championships, and outdoor adventure events.

The Valley – My First Co-Living Experience!
I spent a month at The Valley and it was the perfect base for exploring Portugal’s stunning nature, rich culture, and winding roads – while also working remotely thanks to the super fast internet connection.
The place is beautifully set up with cozy indoor and outdoor areas, and the rooms are comfortable and well-equipped.
The shared dinners and group excursions added a wonderful social dimension to the stay and made it easy to connect with the other residents.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a balanced mix of work, nature, and community!
Had a wonderful stay of 40 days at the Valley. The coliving is quiet and peaceful, well managed and surrounded by beautiful nature and walking trails. The activities organised by Alexandre are varied, fun and interesting.
From the moment we booked Coliving The Valley in Portugal, we could feel there was something truly unique about this place.
It’s not easy for a place to have excellent reviews on both Google and Booking, but Coliving The Valley delivers on every promise. Alex, the host, made us feel welcome right from the first message, and that warmth stayed with us throughout our stay.
This rural coliving experience completely changed our pace. As soon as we arrived, time slowed down. We slept better, started running again, ate healthier, and reconnected with nature in the most beautiful way. Surrounded by lush landscapes, fruit trees, and quiet trails, Coliving The Valley offers the kind of peace you don’t usually find in Europe.
One of the biggest surprises? We thought we’d miss the beach… but we didn’t. The rivers around here are crystal clear, perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Hidden spots, calm waters, and zero crowds, it was even better than we expected.
We started our own cooking projects, I finished writing my book, and finally found the time and headspace to read again. This place gave us the space to be more intentional and creative with how we live.
We also can’t forget Noah, the beautiful pet of the house, always around with a calm presence, reminding us of how good it feels to just be.
The nearby bakery is a dream (we’re still thinking about the pão de avó and broa de milho), and every Sunday Mimi brings us local pastry delights to share with the community. The rooms are super comfortable, the temperature is just right in every season, and there’s even a pool for warm summer days.
What truly makes this place special is the community. Through weekly events like intimate concerts, local festivals, and group outings to explore the surroundings of Roge and Vale de Cambra, we got to connect with amazing people from all over the world.
Most people come to Coliving The Valley thinking they’ll stay just a few weeks, and almost everyone ends up extending. That’s how powerful this experience is.
It changed the way I’ll choose my next places to live, in nature, in the countryside, and far from crowded cities.
This place didn’t just slow down time. It changed the way we live.
So here’s my advice: if you’re looking for a peaceful and inspiring rural coliving in Portugal, book for more than a month. It’s the best way to enjoy the lifestyle, the price, and the magic of this place.
Coliving The Valley isn’t just a stay in Europe. It’s a new way to live.
This was the first coliving that shaped the start of my journey as a digital nomad, and Alexandre, Mimi, their dog Noah, and the amazing community here have set the bar so high. From the very beginning I felt at home, filled with warmth and kindness. The place itself is breathtaking, truly magical. It’s surrounded by nature, full of peace, an escape from all the noise, connecting you deeply to the world and the people around you. It’s the perfect mix of productivity and fun. You learn so much from the people you meet, and the events, such as waterfall tours, live music, DJs, and local festivals, make it even more special. They’re also super accommodating, happily giving you a ride into town when needed, providing delicious baked goods each week, and so much more. I couldn’t have asked for a better first experience in this new lifestyle!
We went to the mountains searching for peace, and we truly found it. After living several months in the city, we longed for a quiet environment where the sounds of nature could erase the constant noise from our memory.
At The Valley we didn’t just find a place to stay, we found a home. The warmth of Alex and Mimi, the sweet affection of Noah the dog, and the friendship of our fellow colivers turned these months in the mountains into magical memories that will last.
From the folkloric dances of the local festivals to the landscapes we discovered every morning on our walks, with fruit trees, the kind greetings of neighbors, and the songs of birds that never failed us, everything became part of an unforgettable experience.
The house was a lovely place to stay. The room, common areas, and beautiful yard provided great spots to relax and enjoy the stunning view. The surroundings were beautiful. The room, working space, and yard offered excellent areas to focus and get work done when needed. It was a great place to stay in every way for us.
Staying at the VALLEY Coliving was a pleasant, convenient, and at the same time, life-enriching experience. As we are now moving to Portugal after a few "scouting trips", my wife an I knew that the northern region of the country would be an excellent fit for our first month. The coliving space allowed me to be productive at work "from day one"; the fact that other young travelers from so many different countries were also there, and that we had a dedicated space for doing our computer-stuff, made us socialize in a relaxed way and not forget to keep things professional during the weekdays - otherwise we could happen to relax "too much" :) as the region is surrounded by mountains, rivers, trees, sheeps etc. For me it was the exact balance of nature nearby, and complete urban structure less than 4km away. Alex and Mimi are very helpful. Sweet pastries in the sunday morning, Pizza and drinks to get to know better our colleagues, all these details give the final touch to our stay. Definitely recommended!
