Room was small, but who stays in their room in Zona Romantica? Service was good, but cleaning, coffee, etc, was very inconsistent. It was a nice stay at a good price. Little ventilation means foggy windows and moldy draperies.
I have recommended this hotel to many friends who come to town and want something close to the restaurants/bars but also easy access to the major roads and beach. Location! The hotel staff are consistently friendly, as are most people in Vallarta. It’s a perfect blend of beach vibes and professional atmosphere.
Not really satisfied with this hotel for several reasons: Advantages: Cleanliness: The common areas are clean and the cleaning staff is exceptional. When they clean the room, it's really well done. I always left them a tip. Location: The hotel is right in the middle of Zona Romantica and 10 minutes max from the waterfront. Disadvantages: Unfriendly staff: When I arrived, I was poorly received by the person who checked me in. He spoke to me badly and seemed unhappy to be working. He didn't answer questions and was very haughty. This is unacceptable for a hotel. A lot of young people, barely 20 years old, work there without much supervision and I don't think that's great. I spoke to another staff member but wasn't able to see a manager. In case of trouble, I can tell you that this place won't help you. Tiny, stuffy rooms: The rooms are very small, even suffocating. I was alone and it's not worth the cost for the price they ask ($125 per night). Infrequent cleaning: Cleaning is done every 3 to 4 days (sic). I would come back from the beach full of sand and I can tell you that I needed more cleaning. So I had to ask at the reception (the unfriendly ones) for the room to be at least a little cleaned. Toilet paper in the trash: You have to throw the toilet paper in the trash and not in the toilet. Okay, but you have to ask the staff to collect and empty the trash in the morning (I can tell you that it didn't smell good with the toilet paper in the trash). Noise: You can hear everything that happens in the hallways (there are holes in the door to supposedly ventilate) (see photos) and so you could hear when people came in, and the door always slammed shut. Mosquitoes: It's next to a dried-up river so the mosquitoes literally ate me alive. To summarize, avoid this hotel because it's too expensive for what it is and has too many inconveniences. Additional Notes: The reviewer seems particularly unhappy with the unfriendly staff and the lack of cleanliness. The reviewer also mentions that the rooms are very small and stuffy, and that there are a lot of mosquitoes. Overall, the reviewer does not recommend this hotel.
We liked our stay. It was quiet, close to everything, and enjoyed waking up to the sounds of the river and birds. Plenty of outlets for our electronics and the suite was spacious. Two things that prevent me from giving this place 5 stars. One is that I didn't see a lift, so we carried our luggage up the stairs. Nor were we told where it was when we checked in if there was one. Two, when I connected to the WiFi I got warnings about the network not being secured so I disconnected and did not use it.
I used the co working space and its a lovely place to work! Very nice location only 5 minutes from the malecon and very near many other nice places. quiet place, good quality chairs and desks. Excellent pricing too! One of my favourite things about the space was being able to eat lunch on the balcony next to the river. I was very fortunate to meet Eric, the owner of the hotel and co-working space, and he was the reason why I chose to work there as he is so friendly and loves to just sit and chat with you! Say hi to him if you see him the lobby area! Thanks very much! :)
It doesn't get any better than this for location in central PV! Positioned alongside the Rio Cuale and adjacent to the year round river island market, The Joint Boutique Hotel & CoWork literally straddles all the beach, dining and nightlife action of Zona Romantica to the south and the gorgeous historical architecture of Gringo Gulch, the galleries and fine dining venues of the Art District and of course the famous cathedral and town square immediately to the north. Other pluses: clean, simple rooms with comfortable beds, super fast internet, a lovely lobby lounge with balcony over the river and last but not least super friendly and helpful staff! Love it. Have stayed twice now.
Helpful and friendly staff. Convenient café on site. Comfortable beds..pillows need to be upgraded. Handy location. Lots of restaurants y bars,,and shops within 2 or 3 blocks.
