I spent a week at the Cocotera last week (mid-July 2025). I was solo traveling, whilst being on holiday in Andalucia. Some friends who are digital nomads recommended this place to me. The vibe is super chill, clean, proper and nice rooms. Lovely staff and atmosphere. I totally recommend it and also don’t get the complaints about the noise. I am a light sleeper so bef arriving I just asked to be placed in a quite room. Even then, during the week Tarifa is quite chill and most of the rooms were empty (even if it’s high season). Just a few recommendations: the terrace needs some care (it def doesn’t look like in the pics from the website), there are no yoga courses offered, and I believe some towels could be provided - like in many other hostels. For the rest, I definitely recommend it to anyone who’s is on holidays or teleworking. One more thing, I found it a bit pricey (I was alone so I always end up paying the extra bed) - and I know Tarifa it’s expensive, but it’s still a hostel 🙂. Great location anyway.
A cute, small, and cozy coworking space—perfect if you’re looking for a calm and inspiring place to get work done. The staff are incredibly welcoming and genuinely care about creating a good atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re in Tarifa and need a productive spot with good vibes!
I had a great experience at the hostel! Veró is so so welcoming and helped with any and every question I had (especially about kitesurfing lessons and the cooking hob!). I stayed in the studio apartment for a week and it was lovely. The rooftop terrace is ace too.
The hostel is located in a quiet part of the old town. The people at the hostel and the co-working space made it an amazing community! It’s a lovely relaxed space that is easy to meet people and enjoy the bars, restaurants, and atmosphere of Tarifa. I highly recommend it and want to go back!
I spent around 2 weeks here and I have an Incredible time. Super friendly staff, clean and nice place for work remotely too. Location couldn't be more perfect for me
The Cocotera was probably the best hostel; i've been so far..(and i travelled a lot). The hostel itself was beautiful, and has a very nice coworkingspace as well.. the team is so nice and you can tell that they realy run the hostel with passion. After a week it felt like home, a lot of people stay longer than they thought they would, including me;) Thank you guys, all the best!
I really liked this hostel: perfect location in the old center of Tarifa, cosy streets (no parking, but you can find parking spots in walking distance), really friendly workers (I had car trouble and they helped me contact car mechanics in Spanish), clean, late check-out (11h30), good beds with curtains and lamps, A/C, I saw that may be there are some rooms without windows(?) but I was in a room with windows, the roofterrace is also a big plus (but no shade and only until 10pm). It's a hostel so being earplugs😅 you have some talking people on the street-noise as well.
Gracias!!
I can only recommend this Hostel. The rooms are clean, the beds cosy and the curtain gives you the comfort of privacy to get a good night's sleep. The location could NOT be better. The Team is always smiling and supportive. All in all a great place to meet nice people.🤝🏻
