Review of Stay Pros: • Perfect location: close to everything. • Some friendly and helpful staff, available even at night. Cons: 1. Room issues: • Initially, I was put in a tiny room instead of the deluxe room I had booked and paid for. (It took 3 days to resolve this issue, during which I had to contact St. John directly. He was the best person there and finally solved the problem) 2. Booking cancellations: • During my 2-month stay, I was informed at least 3 times that my booking had been canceled. • I had to waste time proving that I had already paid in advance for the entire stay. 3. Theft: • $700 in cash was stolen from my bag on the shelf above the bed. • I reported it to the police but couldn’t provide any evidence (no cameras inside and outside) 4. General discomfort: • Daily noisy parties right in front of the apartment. • Lack of privacy. • Very cold inside. Conclusion: Despite the great location and helpfulness of some staff, the stay was overshadowed by serious issues with security, booking management, and overall comfort .
Stayed for a month to work remotely and meet other travellers. Rooms were fine but very noisy due to the workers taking their break outside my bedroom window early every morning so I didn't sleep well. Co-working space is a generous term as it's more of a coffee shop that is open to anyone so difficult to take calls without background noise. It isn't set up for remote working as the Internet connection was poor in my bedroom. However, you are able to go and work at other better equipped neighbourgood co-working spaces for free. Now, for the positives, the location is super convenient and relatively safe. It was easy to meet people, and community events were organised through a WhatsApp group, which was a nice addition. The cafe on site was super useful and I ate there most days. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but the noise and working conditions made it challenging. If they were to make it exclusively for remote workers and improve the co-work facilities/Internet, then it could be great.
My friends and I stayed at Neigbourgood Hill property from the 26th of December 2024- 2nd of January 2025. It was probably one of the worst stays we’ve had. The receptionist was not attentive to us when we arrived. We had booked the 2 Bedroom apartment, the rooms were tiny and the bathroom was dirty, looked old, as if it was a last minute thought for them. They really don’t clean properly in the rooms or the bathrooms. The room is also close to the road, so it can get quite nosy. The only pro’s were the clean towels and the beds were really comfortable.
I have stayed at different neighbourgood locations but I had such an amazing experience here. I want to mention the extremely friendly service. Pamela In particular, she went way out of her way to help me with some issues I was having and really went way out of her way to make my stay comfortable. Luigi the manager also was so friendly and helpful. These kind of personal touches will keep me always coming back.
We stayed in Neighbourgood Hill as part of a tour group. Our stay overall was nice, and the best thing about it was the staff. They were very friendly and accommodating. The only problem that we had was that my partner and I were allocated, potentially the smallest room, that they had. It was also very basic, without a desk, and no closet/ cupboard, and the bathroom also doesn't have a door. The bedroom was in the groundfloor and the windows are high on the wall, for the bathroom. We checked the prices and the price was the same as some of the other rooms, but our room was so small and while it fitted a double bed, that's pretty much everything that could fit in there, except for a small coffee table. Unfortunately, the place was fully booked so we couldn't change rooms. The place in its entirety was really nice though, but the room is not meant for a work trip since it lacked a desk. The internet was fast. They also kept the place clean. The location is safe, and close to a lot of cafes, restaurant, the waterfront and the Hop on-hop off bus. The staff gave us a discount on a different room since we had to leave a day later than our original booking, which was redeeming the small room. The cafe also served good coffee, juices and nice treats. I will stay in this place again, but will make sure it is the larger room!
