🏨 has short staysFine for a workation, but significant turnover works against coliving principles for a cohesive community; a longer minimum stay supports better interactions. What is coliving?⌨️ no dedicated workspaceNo issue if you're okay at a dining table, or will go to a nearby coworking, else not really intended for productivity.💁 has host / managerOften on site to give suggestions and take questions, but do not actively facilitate community.🚗 requires a vehicleNo transport and no pickup available so you'll probably need to take a taxi, but you may be able to arrange from other residents and they may also organise shopping trips together — enquire to check how it works.🤷 ranks poorlyAs a 'coliving' this space likely doesn't meet expectations — yet may be acceptable if you're not expecting too much. (If we're wrong please let us know!)
Technically also functions as a hub offering drop-in coworking, however currently without ergonomic workspaces. [–Ed.]

Comfortable and peaceful. Great place to lock in and get work done. Sunil and the team are wonderful. Although marketed as a relatively social space there was barely any social elements to the experience would have been amazing for the team to arrange low effort activities, safaris, team dinners, etc to help the networking especially as when I stayed there were very few people staying. I had a great time, the space does need a lick of paint and some TLC but
I loved my stay at Nomads. Next to the lake, very peaceful and quiet & still just a close scooter ride away from Ahangama. Sunil and the rest of the crew are the best. Stayed there for a months and was still sad to leave.
Such a wonderful place to stay for so many reasons!
- beautiful surroundings but the lake and in the greenery. You can borrow the kayak for free on the lake
- large and comfortable rooms, cleaned very regularly
- spacious equipped kitchen for cooking yourself or order food from the menu (we loved the sri lankan great curries as well as Italian pasta dishes as a member of the staff lived many years in Italy)
- extra luxury with a lovely clean pool and air-conditioning in the rooms
- so easy to rent your bike from there, organise laundry
- great high speed internet, could do work calls well. And a couple of spaces to work from in addition to the room
- 💯 an absolutely fantastic team Sunil, Kushal, Malika. Made it feel so homely and looked after. A particular thanks for this and for helping with looking after our baby with so much care and kindness ❤️
But even for those coming here without one, other travellers also loved it and a 2 guests came back even as soon as a room was free highlighting this was a much better place to be in. So don't take it just from me! Book for this homely feel - highly recommend!!
This place is special.
You’re surrounded by jungle with monkeys lizards and peacocks coming right to the door. And next to a beautiful lake.
The room we staying is was bright and spacious with aircon and nice design.
And Sunil who runs the place will make sure that you have anything you need.
Rooms are full of mould and has a strong smell of it. The owner was super rude, tried to charge extra even though the stay was prepaid. Overall had a really stressfull experience in this place. It is also quite remote and needs maintenance, does not look like in the pics anymore, common areas are not nice to stay around. Food was really bad too.
Very calm place to stay with beautiful view for Koggala lake.
Patrick and his staff are very helpful. Thank you for your hospitality 🩵
A very chill location!!! If you're working online it's an amazing place to stay & relax by the lake. They also organize events time to time for the guests. & You can always use the pool. Staff is very nice!! 5 stars!!!!
