Amazing Surf, Coliving & Coworking Experience in Hiriketiya!
I had such an incredible experience at Ohana Surf Coliving & Coworking in Hiriketiya. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely welcomed and at home. It’s one of those places where the atmosphere, people, location, and overall vibe come together perfectly.
The biggest highlight for me was the community. Everyone was friendly, open, and easy to connect with, which made it incredibly easy to meet people and make new friends. Whether you’re travelling solo, working remotely, surfing, or simply looking for a place to slow down and enjoy Sri Lanka, Ohana is a fantastic choice.
The surfing experience was also amazing. Hiriketiya is such a beautiful place to surf, and being surrounded by people who genuinely enjoy the ocean makes the whole experience even better. The surf sessions, good energy, and relaxed island lifestyle made it very easy to get into a great daily routine.
The coworking space was another big plus. Having a comfortable and productive place to work while being so close to the beach is honestly hard to beat. It’s the perfect balance between getting work done and enjoying everything Hiriketiya has to offer.
I also loved the overall atmosphere at Ohana. It feels much more personal than a typical hotel or accommodation. You’re not just booking a room — you’re becoming part of a community. There are plenty of opportunities to socialize, share meals, explore the area, surf together, or simply hang out and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.
And of course, Hiriketiya itself is incredible. Beautiful beaches, great food, amazing sunsets, surfing, and that laid-back Sri Lankan feeling make it a place that’s very difficult to leave.
If you’re looking for surfing + coworking + coliving + good people + an amazing location, I would absolutely recommend Ohana. It’s the kind of place where you arrive planning to stay for a short time and then start wondering how you can extend your trip. 😄

I stayed at Ohana for a week, and it was a really cool place for coworking. The staff was incredibly friendly, making it easy to feel at home right away. Plus, it’s just a short walk to Hiriketiya Beach, which is a great bonus.
One of the highlights of my stay was surfing with Dilu from the hotel. It was an amazing experience that I’ll never forget. Overall, Ohana offers a great blend of work and vacation vibes, making it a perfect spot for travelers looking for both productivity and fun. I definitely recommend it! ❤️❤️
We had a great stay at Ohana, this place has opened a few months ago and offers private rooms with shared bathroom or private bathroom. Even if you get a room with shared bathroom, only 2 to 3 rooms are sharing the same one, which make it almost always available and keep it clean.
Also our host Dilu was amazing, he will always find time to discuss with you, play some card games (and win 100% of them), help in any way or offer surfing lessons. While he was at a family gathering, he managed to come back on our checkout time, the only reason being to say goodbye. We will definitely come back next time !

I stayed two weeks at Ohana Coliving and I really enjoyed my time here. It got nice rooms, good coworking space and the team is really friendly. Really recommended.
We have spent two months here and can highly recommend it! The location is great, as it’s close to the beach while still being away from the heavy traffic on the main street. The coworking space is comfy and equipped with fans and fiber internet. Everyone is lovely, and we enjoyed having lunch together multiple times. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home, Ohana is it!
Stayed at Ohana in Hiriketiya, Sri Lanka and had such a great experience. The living space is super comfortable, with reliable WiFi and good desk setups which made remote work really easy.
Special mention to Dilu - an amazing local guy and surf coach. He took me out surfing a few times and I improved a lot thanks to his coaching and advice. Beyond surfing, he also showed me some incredible local food spots, scenic places, and hidden gems around the area.
He genuinely goes above and beyond for guests - at one point my petrol tank ran out in town and he even drove me to get it refilled. It’s rare to meet someone local who you genuinely trust and who has your best interests at heart, so that really made the experience special.
Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re coming to Hiriketiya.

The host is an absolute gem — incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with anything you might need. She truly goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels comfortable and cared for.
Rajika and Dilani are also amazing. They are both so warm, kind-hearted, and always willing to help with a smile. Their positive energy really makes a difference in the day-to-day experience and adds to the special atmosphere of the place.
What makes Ohana Homebase stand out is the feeling of family. It’s not just a place to stay — it’s a place where you feel connected, supported, and truly at home. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I would absolutely repeat it without hesitation.
