Leaving this place was the one of the hardest travel-related activities for me. Outsite Marrakech is the golden standard for what travel accommodation should be. Of course, it is far more than travel-related accommodation. It is a co-living setup that facilitates the type of organic interaction and social serendipity that many solo travelers and digital nomads seek while away from their homes. The Whatsapp group for the Riad adds another layer to facilitate connections between guests that have not necessarily crossed paths in any of the Riad’s common spaces. This place is an interior decoration masterpiece. The clever use of light and foliage make its visual aesthetic an exemplary art form. Nowhere else I’ve stayed comes remotely close to this. The team here has paid attention to every minute detail – a washer/dryer for laundry on the rooftop, filtered water (in case anyone runs out of bottled water), a great office space, a separate room for work calls, a sauna, a swimming pool, an elaborate breakfast (nowhere else I stayed at during my trip in Morocco offered such an extensive spread), bedrooms (with attached private bathrooms) that are well set up for those that want to work in their rooms, and a fantastic rooftop with a straight line of sight to the minaret of the Koutoubia mosque. Pre-arrival correspondence with Hassan was prompt and incredibly detailed. Othman deserves an award for his boundless patience as I hurled an endless barrage of questions at him constantly. His smile and voice are together therapeutic for anyone that has the privilege of interacting with him. Last, but not least, the location. I cannot think of a better location within the Medina. Its proximity to Jema El-Fna square and Bab Elk Sour in a part of the Medina that does NOT feel like a labyrinthine maze is one of its greatest assets. This absolutely matters because getting lost in the Medina is an incredibly unpleasant experience (chances of it happening close to Outsite are minimal) especially late at night when the shops of the Medina close. Shopkeepers are generally helpful but once they’re gone, the only people to help are opportunistic vultures that offer to help with directions and take folks in the absolute opposite direction and then demand significant payment to bring them back to where they were. I saw none of these folks near Outsite – since their relevance is non-existent in this part of the Medina. Outsite Marrakech is also separated from the noise of the city. Even at 50% occupancy while I was there, I was able to meet others and got a couple of folks to join me for dinner on my second night there. Outsite Marrakech will always put a smile on my face. Hands down one of the greatest places I have EVER stayed at. Hassan, Othman, and Zakaria – you guys make a FANTASTIC team!
The hosts I interacted with (Hassan, Othman and Zak) were all very kind and welcoming. This location was my 1st Outsite and I had a great experience. A few things I appreciate about this place were the filtered tap water onsite to refill your water bottles, the ability to do your laundry for free even with soap provided, use of the kitchen to make yourself tea at any time and being able to enjoy the hammam all to yourself at any hour. This spot was centrally located to all the things I wanted to do in Marrakesh: museums, historical site seeing, dining, shopping in the souks (local markets). It was smack in the middle of all my saved pins on google maps so I felt strategically located for exploring the city by foot. I’m a digital nomad and really valued meeting other remote workers staying here to go share a meal, etc. Recommend!
I chose to stay at Outsite for the first time in Marrakech because I wanted to meet people. Though I originally intended to stay only 1 week, I ended up staying for 3 and in that time I made good friends, with both other travelers and the staff of Outsite. I appreciated the open work space as a great option to let me work outside my room and wifi always seemed to work fine. As it's in the heart of the medina, I recommend that people stay longer than a night or 2 to really get the feel of living in that part of the city.
Our staying in the Riad has been great!
We particularly loved the food and the Outsite team invited us for lunch once (the best tajine we had in Marrakesh)
I really enjoyed staying at Outsite Marrakech. Both the manager Hassan and the night manager Othman were warm and friendly, and had good advice for the area. For staying in the middle of the Medina it's quiet, and I love the classic riad feature of an open courtyard with plants and a pool in the middle. My room was on the top terrace, my bed was great and I loved waking up and sitting on the terrace taking the sun in. The whole place feels very 'protected' from the busyness of the Medina, it's cool and quiet and internet and printer service was great. I loved coming back here at night and 'tucking myself in', this place felt like home!
The Riad is amazing, has many shared areas and will make you feel like in the Middle Ages! You will feel calmed after walking around the crazy busy streets from the city and it is on the center of the Medina. The hosts are super nice. There are some details from the room that could be improved, and the breakfast is good but there is only diary milk
I had a great experience both times I visited the Marrakech Outsite and that was partly because of the kind of people that I could meet there --other professionals with similar interests--, but specially because of the convenience of having so many and so helpful locals helping out on every step at every hour. The location is also great to enjoy the Medina and to go on the weekend excursions. All this made me come back multiple times, both as a visit and as a guest. Thank you everyone!
