The apartment building is beautiful, truly feel like a local Chelsea place. The coworking is the spacious, as it takes the whole underground floor and even has a call booth space. Good community, tho not many people usually, but we had pizza night one day and it was nice to connect with other remote workers!
Very nice location with shopping facilities, cafés and underground station within walking distance. The public areas, including the co-working space, are extremely practical and allow you to spend whole days comfortably in the building. Everything else is on site, and the kitchen is new and fully equipped. I felt very comfortable during my stay and can highly recommend it for a trip to New York.
Outsite Chelsea is incredibly well located, in a calm and very pleasant neighborhood. Everything is nearby, grocery stores, great places to grab food. The subway is just around the corner, which makes it super easy to get anywhere in New York.
The house itself is huge, so you never feel crowded. There’s plenty of space to work comfortably, relax, and still enjoy privacy. The atmosphere is both productive and welcoming, which makes it an amazing place to work remotely.
On top of that, the community is great ,you meet people, exchange, and feel instantly comfortable. I would 100% recommend Outsite Chelsea to anyone looking for a place to live, work, and connect while in NYC.
I really love the coworking hotel concept that Outsite offers. The Chelsea location was our first Outsite stay, and overall it was a great experience. We did have a few minor issues with the lock codes and a small leak in our room after a heavy rain, but the community manager, Lana, was quick to help and resolved everything right away.
The only downside for us was the noise. The walls and doors are quite thin, so we could hear doors opening, conversations, and one night there was some very loud screaming from another guest around 3am. I think this is likely due to the building being older, which is common in NYC, but it did impact the stay a bit.
All that said, we are still really happy with Outsite as a whole and have already booked our next trip!!
Travelers beware: This is a un-safe hostel and not a hotel. We have traveled here for 2 nights and only stayed 1 night due to safety concerns.
On the night of our arrival we were extremely disappointed to find our bedsheets stained, not only that but the restroom was soaked and had the trash can overflowing/hair on the floor.
we decided to be patient and slept on a blanket over the bedsheets. The next morning we were awakened at 9am by travelers saying they had booked the same room as us! Someone literally came into our room and woke us up. Why are the door codes given to travelers that are not even checked in yet???
This was the last straw for us, we left to spend our remaining night at another hotel. Terrible experience.
Nowhere on the listing did it mention that the bathroom is shared. When I arrived, the bathroom was dirty and clearly not maintained. On top of that, I had to carry my luggage up four flights of stairs — there was no elevator, and this was never mentioned in the listing either. The experience was completely misleading and unacceptable. I checked out immediately and would not recommend staying here.
I would've loved to give the Outsite 5 stars because overall it is quite nice (clean room, nice modern decorative style, convenient location), but I was stunned when we arrived to find these signs in every bathroom stating that you cannot flush a variety of items, INCLUDING toilet paper. Everything else I understand, because the buildings are very old and the plumbing wasn't designed to handle things like tampons and cotton balls being flushed down the toilet, but even on the NYC Department of Environmental Protection's own website, it explicitly states that toilet paper is acceptable to flush down the toilet. Toilet paper is designed to break down in water, so there's no reason for it to have been included in this list of items, and if it really is problematic, then the Outsite either needs to fix their plumbing issues or provide bidets in the bathrooms instead. We were extremely uncomfortable with the idea of used toilet paper festering in our trash can for the duration of our stay, so we basically only used the en suite bathroom for showering and brushing our teeth. We had to physically leave the building to find usable restroom facilities elsewhere whenever we needed to go. And then to make matters worse, when I reached out to the Community Manager to express my disappointment about not being notified of this issue in advance, they acted like it was crazy of me to think that I should be able to flush toilet paper down the toilet, and then they ghosted me. So yeah, I'm sad to say that this experience really put a big damper on what should've otherwise been a really nice trip.
I absolutely loved my stay at Outsite Chelsea. The location is amazing, the house is modern and clean and I met great people. The rooftop is incredible. Would definitely recommend.
