In general quite a nice hotel. The vibe is immaculate. Offers options for more budget travellers with the pods and nice rooms. The services are great, the coworking space is top and the food is nice. Only minus was the cleaning situation of the bathtub on Monday early morning but I have to say I was the first person there. The water I guess has suffering from the weekend. Besides that I loved it. Will be back when in Amsterdam if they keep prices reasonable.
Volkshotel offers a unique and vibrant experience for travelers seeking a creative and social atmosphere. Its trendy design, lively bar, and rooftop hot tubs create a buzzing ambiance. Guests love the comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and convenient location near public transport. While some find the rooms on the smaller side, the hotel's overall vibe and affordable prices make it a popular choice for those seeking a memorable and unconventional stay in Amsterdam.
Located a little on the edge of town (get your walking trainers out!) this is a great place to stay. Affordable and quirky. The staff are friendly and helpful and the bed surprisingly comfy. We would definitely return :)
I had an amazing stay at the Volkshotel last night. Upon arrival I received a free upgrade to the businessman suite. It was such a perfect setting! Lovely bed, bath with a view and a Beamer scream the size of a cinema. Very cool design and Color’s The service was wonderful too. Very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar upstairs were also great because we had everything in reach. I will definitely come back! I loved it!
We had a Fantastic trip to Amsterdam and the Volkshotel was a huge part of that. They let us check in 4 hours early, and before that, offered us full access to all hotel amenities! We took a nice dip in the hot tub and sat in the sauna to relax after traveling, and showered upstairs before checking in. The staff here really goes above and beyond! They made it easy for us to be tourists - the bike rentals were cheap and so useful! So many things to love - the front desk charged our phones for us every night before we got an adapter, the food was great and cheap, and the bar downstairs was our spot to grab a beer before heading out. Location is great, 10 minutes on the tram from the center of the city. Easy to walk to from the station and easy to find. The rooms were great, had everything we needed and had a modern charm. The highlight was the rooftop, “Badplaats” - it was magical. It really does look exactly like the pictures. The second highlight was the breakfast buffet and the club downstairs! I truly felt like this place was home after four days!
Very trendy hotel - I loved the vibe. Reception was super nice and we were able to check in 4 hours early. My partner and I stayed in the medium sized private room and it was perfect for us. I thought it had enough space and had really nice views. Note that the washroom is separated from the sleeping area by a glass wall, so you can see the light and can hear everything, which may have been weird if we were not a couple. The hotel has a restaurant (with a DJ on Saturday night though and a dancefloor, so seemed more like a bar) and a nightclub. I am a light sleeper and didn’t hear anything. Overall, great experience. Easy to get to by the metro if coming from outside of the city centre.
Stayed in one of the smaller rooms, a bit of a raw but trendy design. There's no carpet and the floor could get freezing, plus the air con was pretty loud during the night and it could take a while to get going. Those were some chilly nights, even though it was the end of May, but at least the bed was comfy and you could tuck in under a thick and warm duvet. Some basic amenities are included but the room was missing some things like disposable toothbrush, hair dryer, or clothes iron. Having control over whether or not you want room service to come in was a nice touch but when they eventually came in, for some reason they took away all the toilet paper. Luckily I had my own roll in my backpack but if I hadn't, it would be a big annoyance. Overall the room seems good only for when your day is packed with things to do around the city, and you only need a place to crash at night. Good location for that as well. Very close to public metro and bus stations so it's easy to get around. My biggest compliments go to the hotel staff, who were all very nice, including the staff of the Canvas restaurant upstairs. Which, speaking of, served very tasty breakfast every morning in an all-you-can-eat buffet. I also had a chance to dine there during the evening and all of the served dishes were very nice as well. Nice view from the terrace.
