I don't really know where to start—maybe with the front desk.
There isn't really one; it doesn't exist.
This is quite new to me. I guess they're trying to save money.
The room is furnished very cheaply, which is evident, for example, in the toilet, which often leaks—you have to flip the flush button to make it work. The layout of the room is also strange. The room is cleaned once every four days. That’s strange, too. Two of the four towels were dirty. There was hair in the shower. The fan grille was dirty and full of grease. The boards on the terrace were poorly screwed down. The main thing was that air fresheners were installed in the hotel hallways. That was probably meant to create a feeling of cleanliness. The whole hotel was meant to have an industrial look, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be finished. I’m a civil engineer, so I know what I’m talking about. Unfinished concrete staircases, peeling plaster, unfinished details, poorly installed air conditioning units, etc.
All of that could have been overlooked if at least the staff had tried.
But unfortunately, it was a disaster in this regard as well. Breakfast had a pitiful selection, and the staff smoked on the terrace instead of tending to the guests. The coffee from some faulty machine was absolutely disgusting—it was truly undrinkable. The staff, however, were making their own espresso to go with their cigarettes. Pigeons kept walking around the terrace while we were eating—and even into the restaurant. The beautiful location with a view of the city, however, cannot make up for these negatives. Even in France, as it turns out, there is a lack of qualified, high-quality staff; this is not how the hospitality industry should be run.
I stayed at Babel Grenoble for 4 months and had a pleasant experience while living there.
However, I cannot recommend it without mentioning that my €751.93 security deposit has never been returned after checkout.
Despite months of emails and investigations involving the finance department and the payment provider, the issue is still unresolved.
I sincerely hope future guests never have to go through a similar experience.

The rooftop is especially enjoyable, with a magnificent view over all of Marseille and impeccable service. An ideal base for discovering the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay again.”
We had a great stay at Babel Community Grenoble and honestly, it felt like much more than just a hotel. The facilities are modern, cozy, and well thought out — comfortable rooms, nice common areas, and everything you need to feel at home whether you’re staying short or long term.
The location is also a big plus. It’s perfectly situated in Grenoble, making it super easy to get around, explore the city, and enjoy the local vibe without any hassle.
But what really makes Babel Community special is the people. The entire staff is incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. A special shoutout to Jackie, who went above and beyond for us — she even helped us in Spanish, our mother tongue, which made us feel instantly comfortable and truly cared for. That personal touch made a huge difference and turned a great stay into an unforgettable one.
If you’re looking for a place with great facilities, a fantastic location, and genuinely warm hospitality, Babel Community Grenoble is absolutely the place to stay. We’d come back without thinking twice 😊
I stayed in this residence many times, and everything is just perfect whether you are there for business or for vacations. The rooms are large and comfortable, fully equipped (internet TV, dishwasher, laundry machine, kitchen, fridge, microwave, etc.). From the terrace, during breakfast or aperitif, the view is incredible and amazing. The staff (ref. Jacqueline) is super nice, attentive, helpful. The restaurant is super recommended, very kind staff taking care of you. If you don't have car, ask for the free shuttle service to reach the residence. Truly worthy to stay, if you want to visit Grenoble from a privileged point of view. recommended.
I stayed at Babel Community for 1 month while searching for permanent housing in Grenoble. The room had everything necessary for living: a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, dishes, and cutlery.
For me, the positives end there. The location is quite inconvenient, it is on a hill, and climbing up there after work in 40-degree heat with grocery bags is extremely difficult. There is some kind of shuttle service that goes up the hill, but there is no clear information about it anywhere, and the webpage on the site doesn’t work. Apparently, you have to call and request it, which is very inconvenient.
The nearest grocery store is a 20-minute walk away, there are no places to grab a quick bite nearby, the restaurant is always full, and I couldn’t find any vending machines either.
But the biggest downside for me is the very poor communication with the residents. I left Babel Community at the end of July and still haven’t been able to get my deposit back, which was the equivalent of one month’s rent. I was promised it would be returned within a month to a month and a half. I patiently waited, and when I finally wrote to them after 1.5 months, I found out they hadn’t even bothered to confirm my check-out.
As a customer, I am absolutely not interested in the company’s internal processes, I just want my money back. My emails are constantly ignored: either the contact person is on vacation, on a business trip, or I simply get no reply for days.
Fairly "new" building (renovation of an old industrial building?), with digital check-in and check-out, modernly equipped apartment (kitchenette, bathroom, living room). Nice view of Grenoble and the surrounding area. Shuttle service from the hotel location to the riverbank with a battery-powered vehicle.
Despite the apartment being large enough, the architects failed to plan a "bedroom". They squeezed a small bed (which could easily have been 20 cm wider) between three walls, so the couple has to "climb" over each other - a poor solution.
The public access road to the hotel is a disaster, and it is also difficult to find a parking space in the evening.
Pretty good all and all. Clean and spacious rooms, everything you need to live comfortably for a few days or longer.
The wifi didn’t work well in the rooms.
The air conditioning worked well in summer although we have stayed previously and in the shoulder seasons they do not turn on the air conditioning so beware of heatwaves in April or May - It may be an unpleasant stay for you.
The duvets were heavy winter duvets and far too hot. Even with the room at 18 degrees it was too hot!
