We stayed only for one night as we had a wedding to attend nearby but would definitely book this again on another visit to Rathymno! It is family run and is very cosy, extremely clean, and comfortable, so highly recommending a stay for a couple or a family. The pics online dont do justice to how meticulously designed it is . The outdoor space felt like a small oasis with a small pool and lots of greenery.
Absolutely amazing stay in a smaller town just outside of Rethymno. Perfect cute very local spots right outside the hotel for coffee, small supermarket, etc. The hotel itself is run by the perfect hosts, Manolis was amazing & the hosts were so kind & welcoming. I loved their place so much I returned & extended my stay there for a bit after I had an unfortunate circumstance happen while staying at another place in Crete! The overall property is set up as a great way to meet other folks but still have a lot of privacy & the apartment itself was extremely clean, well-equipped, comfortable, the main terrace was beautiful for sunsets, tanning, etc. & overall it felt like such a comfortable oasis & relaxing stay. You really do get a nice small Greek village feel, some cute tavernas a few min walk where you can have dinner outside a beautiful church. (The church bells are loud on Sunday but I actually enjoyed it very much haha, just be prepared). Would absolutely stay again & recommend.
We stayed, as a couple, for 2 weeks in November, working remotely. The wifi is, as promised, the best experienced in Crete. The place is an old complex restored as modern studios and apartments, ideal for a peaceful stay in the village and only 10 minutes by bus from Rethymno. Manolis and his parents are very nice hosts and took great care of us. The complex is clean and neat, filled with open shared areas where to sit and relax or work. Would definitely try to come back in the warm season to enjoy longer the terraces and the swimming pool. If you like the village life, Atsipopoulo is a pretty one with great bakeries (one next door) and one of the best traditional tavernas we found in Crete. Will come back!
Calergi Residence was the highlight of my trip in Crete! The owners treat you like family and are so kind! All of the rooms are different and unique. It has a lovely rooftop for BBQs, exercising or just hanging. The pool was great for the hot afternoons. It was also nice to have a communal kitchen in the basement. All of the rooms had wifi but it got slower in the evenings. However, it was always great in the basement which has lots of tables to work from.
Stayed here while attending a friend's wedding in Greece. This was one of our most favourite places to stay on the entire island. The location was convenient, facilities clean, and staff friendly. We loved having the pool in the centre courtyard, and the room was cute and welcoming. We hope to be back here one day!
It's not located in a small village or far from the main road so expect some noise. On the plus side, a minute from a good size and locally priced supermarket. There's a lovely cafe/bar/bakery. Recommend you visit - it's quite chic with good ice cream.
The place is pretty well maintained with nice gardens. Some maintenance issues.
You can catch a bus into the heart of town from the bakery. It's route 1. Dont expect the owners to know much about it.
