Fantastic first hostel experience! Rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. Being located so close to the train station is quite nice and the social atmosphere is lovely and friendly! Highly highly recommend to anyone taking a trip to Basel
The location is good, the staff is friendly. The stay quite horrific. They changed their IT system so the door locks arent working properly for the first time. The staff will be friendly enough to help you. The horrific thing is that we were having a nap around 4pm to 5pm during the day of visit, then the staff suddenly tried to go in(but only peeked). We asked the reception and they said they want to fix the light???????????? Does that make sense? It is a bit traumatizing that they can open the room even though its not cleaning period in the morning. Few hours down, everytime we hear a noise from the outside, we will just be worried that someone will open the door again.
Omg, was so good! Felt more like a boutique hotel than a hostel. We stayed in a private room so can't comment on the dorms and omg, luxury. The brilliant shower room and the free robe they give was such a added benefit. The staff were too good for a hostel! Everything was above our expectations for sure
I stayed here twice, once in the winter of 2024 and again in 2025 during the Women's EURO tournament. I was satisfied with everything the hotel offers and is also a comfortable place to just chill out after a day of traveling around Basel. My only issue (and this is mostly circumstantial) was that during the Euros, a capsule cost more than a single room. Plus points definitely go to the location. Close proximity to Basel SBB made it ideal for travelers. Otherwise, very happy to stay here again if I were to have another solo trip to Basel.
Not the best hostel bunk bed/room and WC but it was okay for the price. The rest of the facilities were great. Also very near to Central Station and Tram stop. They had free luggage room that was a plus!
Not good value for money. I took a capsule, which was the only thing left that night. It sucks. No space in the room for large luggage, and the room felt very unpersonal. You don't even know if someone else is here. Inside didn't have an electric plug, only usb outlet, which didn't work. Breakfast was not included, had to pay 14F extra, which was a joke for the poor quality of the breakfast. All this was like 85 swiss francs, which is by far the most expensive hostel night I have ever spent, in any country. No one at reception, only an ipad to check-in. They don't even give you a keycard, it's all by codes to type in on the doors. Really annoying. Disappointinng place! Silo hostel, on the other side of town is much cheaper and better.
One of the few affordable things in Basel is this brilliant hostel. I had one of the private rooms with shared bath and shower. EVERYTHING was tiptop - quality is evident everywhere, including the showers, oh my goodness what fantastic showers. Fixtures, water pressure, even the towels are amazing. Bed is SUPER comfortable and my room was incredibly quiet. I'd stay here in a heartbeat.
Have stayed here a few times and am a big fan. For families travelling together, it's great to have the option of one hotel room with multiple bedrooms around a shared living room with large balcony. They've obviously gone to great lengths to keep the prices as low as possible. The room was perfectly clean and comfortable, but some features were just a bit too cheap - the mini fridge didn't close, the hairdryer didn't heat, there's not sun shading for the main window so the room overheats to an extreme degree in summer. As is standard in Switzerland, this hotel has no air-conditioning so gets very hot in summer. The team is always so welcoming, efficient and effortlessly makes you feel at home. The family-oriented spaces are in a separate building to the hostel-format rooms, so noise or passersby at night was never an issue.
