Great place to stay, feels like home!
The coliving is in a great location, only 10mins from town with other shops closer by, the hills of Funchal will also keep you fit. The house is lovely and clean with plenty of nice areas to chill out and has all amenities required to make life easy and really feel like home. Lily who runs the co living makes you feel welcome and is very helpful for any questions or queries you might have and the madeira friends community has a great range of activities and meet ups for everyone.
Throughly enjoyed my stay and was so welcomed into the community, hopefully be back again sometime.
A very short (only 3 days) but a very sweet stay at Casa do Pico Coliving! It is ideal for those without a car in Madeira as just a quick brisk walk downhill (but you’ll need your energy or a Bolt to get back up!) and you are in central Funchal to do a spot of sightseeing around the town.
The property has been lovingly restored and modernised yet still retaining some of the original features like the staircase. It was a delight to see and I particularly enjoyed the small interior design details of the property. Each room is named after a flower (very cute) and mine had a desk with a screen, a nice touch for remote workers. It is clear that a lot of effort has been made to maintain the community feel of the Coliving and there is property manager on hand should you have any questions or o give you some tips on the local area. I definitely would stay there again because it checked all of my boxes in terms of being clean, good value, great location and of course respectful residents with good vibes!
Loved our stay! It’s a very spacious house with enough room for everyone. Beautiful living rooms, and apart from the big terrace outside there is also a really nice tiny one with view all over Funchal (we really enjoyed it for our breakfast in the sun and watching all the lights of the city during the evening). The house has nice cleans bedrooms, well equipped kitchens and a big (sunny) terrace. We also really enjoyed yoga in the park in the morning!

Lovely house! It has everything you need, the terrace is beautiful, you can relax there in the afternoon. Location is pretty close to city. Lily is an amazing host and will help you with anything you need, beautiful community with likeminded people. For sure a place to comeback! 😎
I stayed with Madeira Friends back in November for a month, and I cannot recommend this experience enough. They do an amazing job connecting you with both the local and expat community, so you never feel alone.
The vibes in the house were great. Special shoutout to Lulu, who was the host at the time and made sure the atmosphere always felt cozy and homey. Eli was also incredibly helpful, keeping us up to date with events on the island, sharing the best hiking tips, and quickly resolving any questions or requests.
Madeira itself is a wonderful island that every remote worker should visit at least once in their life. And staying with Madeira Friends truly upgrades the whole experience 💖

I absolutely loved my stay at the coliving! The house is stunning and in an ideal location in Funchal. The rooms are super comfortable, very clean, and beautifully decorated. But what really made the experience special were the incredible hosts, Eli & Lulu, and the warm, welcoming community — they made my stay truly unforgettable.
We had an amazing stay at the Madeira Friends Co-Living house. We were lucky enough to stay in the studio, for a couple this was perfect to have our own space, but also use of the main house, and opportunity to socialise with other guests - made some great friends in such a short amount of time, loved the 'family' dinners, pizza night being a highlight! Couldn't fault the facilities, everything was clean and well looked after. I practiced yoga on the top terrace with views out to sea - it was magical! We will be back, thank you to Eli, Lulu & the whole Madeira Friends team, you've created such a special community.
A really nice place to spend time on Madeira! The house itself is really cool and especially the terrace is amazing as you can spend wonderful time here chilling and looking on the ocean. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming which is created mostly by a fantastic host Lulu. Also you really feel that you can get any help from Eli and even join some trips together for which I’m really thankful. In general you can just come and it’s so easy to join the community and find some cool events in every week. The house is nicely located - evening walks to the ocean promenade or even nice hilly loops with levadas are reachable on foot - you just need to check the map properly. Highly recommended!
