Traveled on business + vacation (work trip + extended days and brought the family), this hotel is a great option. Location was great for work, and fairly central for the vacation aspects of our trip (~20min walk to most central things). Hotel is a bit kitschy, but nice and modern and spacious enough for US visitors to feel more comfortable than at the average European hotel I've seen, which tend to skew more toward the hostel end of the spectrum of accommodations.
The staff here are a bit inconsistent (but friendly!). Smoke detectors in our room had been taped over by previous occupants (safety hazard), and when raised, the staff didn't do anything about it. One day, kids are free to eat at the restaurant. The next, they cost money. One day, housekeeping replenishes the coffee in the room. The next, calling to the front desk says to come to the front desk for the coffee, then when there they shrug and say "housekeeping deals with that". A/C in the room didn't work all that well, but temps in the room were manageable with a borrowed fan and leaving the windows open at night. Traveled with a toddler and that was mostly a good experience once we got the crib actually delivered...they said they had it in the room in advance, but "delivered it to the wrong room".
I stayed at one of their basic lofts for 4 nights. Place is nice, well mantained, clean, comfortable and with an excellent attention from the staff. Vibe is more of a coworking or remote working space. Not my preferred choice for a vacations trip. Location is good, right outside the most touristic area but in a more quiet space. Nothing bad about it, but I’m more into traditional hotels.
Wonderful large room with a kitchen, table, and sofa. Like a full apartment, but miniaturized perfectly.
Nice bar to hang out in, or to do some remote work.
Close to a metro station, but central station is walkable. Basically close to everything fun in Amsterdam.
Everything I wanted in a city hotel. Loved it.
Really interesting and forward thinking hotel. We only got to stay here one night before heading out of town but it was a really great place. Everything is thought out really well in terms of space in the room, and its fund to explore when you get there. The rooftop work area/restaurant/check in desk/play room is a really cool concept and the food was delicious. Thank you!
Rooms have a cool concept, the location is OK, though not much directly around it. where they really fell down is with their food. i had a cooked breakfast, an omelette, one day and it was not great at all, quite greasy really. again with the dinner while it tasted good the quantity was very limited, especially across a large group, i only got one small 2cm3 piece of chicken for example. In general the food did let them down, which is a shame, In general, not really worth the price of the food or the service...
New favourite hotel in Amsterdam. Room are very unique and super comfortable. Literally a 20 min walk from pretty much everything you want to see in central Amsterdam. Staff are lovely and the rooftop area is such a great spot to chill. Will be back for sure.
Our room was not as shown on the photo's, it seemed much smaller. not even the exercise ropes? We had shown all our friends how unique it was but it was disappointing.
We, each got locked in the bathroom which was quite a frightening experience, as the lock was faulty, your engineers came twice, said it was fixed, and we were compensated with chocolate bars. On the morning we left, it jammed again, but my partner managed to unlock it from the outside, what a horrible experience to end with.
We booked this hotel because we thought that it would be nice to sit outside end enjoy the garden, and sit in your nice bar area to have a drink together. Sadly, the gardens looked unkempt, overgrown and neglected, such a shame.
I appreciate that you seem to cater more for the travelling professionals, but it was hard to find a seat without some individual having loud business conversations openly doing business on their laptops, there was not enough places for people to enjoy a nice private quiet drink.....?
The staff were mostly nice, as mentioned above, but one particular girl in the bar was busy chatting to her boyfriend sitting at the bar, and everytime we asked for a drink, we felt we were interrupting, or she would make us wait, she was particularly unfriendly, so we avoided her in later visits, she didn't even smile....
We tried the menu in the restaurant, and the two different dishes we ordered were unrelated, but made with exactly the same brown spicy sauce, so quite disappointing, and quite expensive for what it was. We went there for a special occasion, so we didn't want to spoil the evening by sending it back.
I have run pubs/restaurants and hotels in London and in Oxford...the one thing I always told my staff was that when you are dealing with guests, remember you are representing me.
Such a shame as it looked so nice.....
