Spent a lot of time looking for a short stay place for myself and my wife that felt like an air b and b but had the services of a hotel. Zoku nailed it. Everything was so clean and modern. The top floor is just amazing. And the general vibe and location are class.
We just had one of the best meals I have ever had at Zoku this evening. We ordered the sharing platter and every dish was so delicious, it melted on my tongue. I can't remember eating like that for years. Absolutely wonderful. 100% recommended ✨
The room is spacious and bright and has everything you need. The rooftop is very romantic at night with all the dimmed lights. My room was next to the door that opens to the elevator, so I could hear the door opens and closes all the time from my room. There is little soundproofing as I could hear footsteps from upstairs or people walking by the hallway. If you are a light sleeper, you need to aware of this. Overall, I like the unique loft design and would stay again next time I visit.
Great stay in the centre of Amsterdam for a good price! We needed a room for a night nearby the theatre, nothing too fancy, expensive or big -just a bed to safely sleep in mostly- and this place actually exceeded our expectations. The interior is calm, modern and lovely. When you arrive, you can only get up to the 6th floor, which is the public space. The self check-in is quick and easy. The room card is used to access your floor and room, giving a certain extra sense of security. The room was simple but still with enough storage space, and the bathroom was straight out of a luxurious hotel in my opinion. Though I could have done without the wall-covering mirrors in the shower. The overall vibe of the hotel is amazing and it's a quick walk to a metro or tram nearby. They even offer an art-swap, for if you don't like the art in your room, which we found really fun. The only points we'd grade lower were the noisiness of our room, the light and the lack of personnel approaching us/visible at check-in. Our room was on an in-between floor, with the door right in the stair-space. We could hear people talk and doors fall shut, so if you're a light sleeper it's less convenient. The windows in the room were high up and had walls close-by, so natural light was limited, but enough during the day. The main-light of the room wasn't very bright though, even on its brightest. And at check-in we first couldn't find the self check-in nor some kind of reception/person. In the end, the tablets were near the hallway and easy in use. Could have done with a clearer sign towards the self check-in.
Fantastic hotel, great location, exceptional staff. I stayed here for a weekend with my partner and we had a great time. Zoku is conveniently located within walking (or tram) distance of all the famous sites. It has a fantastic rooftop bar with great views. The rooms are well equipped with the option to grab extras from the pantry if needed. A perfect stay for long or short term visits. We will definitely be back..
Traveled on business + vacation (work trip + extended days and brought the family), this hotel is a great option. Location was great for work, and fairly central for the vacation aspects of our trip (~20min walk to most central things). Hotel is a bit kitschy, but nice and modern and spacious enough for US visitors to feel more comfortable than at the average European hotel I've seen, which tend to skew more toward the hostel end of the spectrum of accommodations. The staff here are a bit inconsistent (but friendly!). Smoke detectors in our room had been taped over by previous occupants (safety hazard), and when raised, the staff didn't do anything about it. One day, kids are free to eat at the restaurant. The next, they cost money. One day, housekeeping replenishes the coffee in the room. The next, calling to the front desk says to come to the front desk for the coffee, then when there they shrug and say "housekeeping deals with that". A/C in the room didn't work all that well, but temps in the room were manageable with a borrowed fan and leaving the windows open at night. Traveled with a toddler and that was mostly a good experience once we got the crib actually delivered...they said they had it in the room in advance, but "delivered it to the wrong room".
I stayed at one of their basic lofts for 4 nights. Place is nice, well mantained, clean, comfortable and with an excellent attention from the staff. Vibe is more of a coworking or remote working space. Not my preferred choice for a vacations trip. Location is good, right outside the most touristic area but in a more quiet space. Nothing bad about it, but I’m more into traditional hotels.
