BEWARE OF THEFT. It’s unfortunate I have to post this but I think it’s important to note when choosing to stay at what you assume is a highly rated establishment. Similar to another review I’ve read here, Zoku housekeeping “could not find” an item I left in the room. This is extremely hard to believe given it’s at least $2000 euros in value and regardless of the value, the standard hotel policy is to hold onto a lost & found item for 90 days. I reported this missing item 4 days after my stay and it took them another 5 days with barely any correspondence in between to plainly tell me that housekeeping did not find it - not a single apology for even taking so long to reply. As others have also mentioned here, it’s likely the case that this item was discarded or stolen, both outcomes I deem very shocking for a hotel like this in Copenhagen.
The housekeeping staff in general is extremely rude and before this incident was disappointing. We were not informed during check in that we have to tidy our own rooms using the pantry on each floor, so we asked one of the housekeeping staff if we could just please have new towels. Instead of directing us to the pantry or handing us some towels from her cart, she literally scoffed at us that “it’s not possible” so we had to go all the way to the lobby to ask how we can get any towels or cleaning.
Zoku seems in the middle of nowhere when you arrive, but it isn’t. Thanks to the bike rentals it’s about 12 minutes to anywhere (highly recommend) and there is a train station a 5 minute walk away that is super easy. The grocery store downstairs is great to have, we got breakfast food here.
My only issue were: 1. We had a garden room facing the courtyard - I felt really claustrophobic and would ask for a street side room next time even if there might be street noise. 2. It was warm when we were in town and the window only opened an inch (didn’t help the claustrophobia…) and the air can only be adjusted by a few degrees, so we got hot in the loft at night. Otherwise the room was just as pictured and very quiet. Couch could have been more comfy too, it was small and not good for lounging.
Staff was super great and helpful. Room was clean. Coffee every morning on the rooftop was delightful. Final bill was very reasonable for CPH. Would stay again for sure.
A space designed for young entrepreneurs. Oddly, the rooms have been designed around the concept of holding business meetings and the bed is viewed as something secondary/less important. The designer thought it more important to give their guests a giant table and hide the bed in an elevated cage. Fine, if you are a “young, single entrepreneur” who loves the nostalgia of childhood bunk beds and dens, not so great when you’re a middle aged couple, on their holiday. The chore of climbing over your sleeping other half to use the bathroom, highlighted how this room was designed on novelty, rather than function. The pointless gymnasium rings hanging from the ceiling supported this attraction to playful novelty.
Do be aware of the constant hum of an air filtration system, with an extra vent inside your bed cage.
We did ask if we could change rooms, to a more conventional room with a bed accessible from both sides, but we were told they were designed for customers with disabilities and all were currently occupied.
The roof top reception lounge and restaurant is a great space, but this is taken over with people working and team meetings, so not somewhere you would be comfortable being, while on holiday. The breakfast is excellent, with good healthy options. The location is close to the metro station and university. 30 minutes walk into town.
If you value sleep and comfort, over team meetings, Zoku is not for you. It is not a great sign, when you look forward to going home, so you can finally get a good nights sleep.
If we visited Copenhagen again, we would stay more central, in a hotel that placed the bed as the most important part of the room.
I can’t say enough good things about the team at Zoku Copenhagen. From the moment I arrived, I felt truly welcomed—not just greeted, but known. The service was top-tier, yet wrapped in a kind of folky, familiar warmth that made it feel more like staying with old friends than at a hotel.
During my stay, I had a medical emergency, and Helle, one of the managers, went above and beyond to help me find an urgent medical appointment. Her kindness and calm in a stressful moment meant the world to me. I’ll never forget it. Marsha and Sergio were also incredibly supportive and thoughtful when I needed it most—true examples of what hospitality should feel like.
The entire team—Hannah, Maria, Thomas, Jose—every single person I encountered brought such great energy. Friendly, professional, helpful, and always happy to share local tips and make you feel at home.
My room was clean, comfortable, and cozy—everything I needed to unwind and feel grounded.
If you're visiting Copenhagen, stay at Zoku. It’s more than just a place to sleep—it’s a place where people care. And that makes all the difference.
Amazing stay! The room was clean, spacious, bright, and very comfortable. Great location just steps from the metro. The rooftop was a real highlight with beautiful view.
The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful — they made us feel right at home. Safe, convenient, and welcoming.
We’ll definitely be coming back!
I had the pleasure of staying at Zoku Hotel in Copenhagen, and I can confidently say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and unique, blending modern design with a cozy, home-like feel.
The room was incredibly well-thought-out, combining functionality with style. The loft layout maximized the use of space and made it feel much more than just a hotel room—it felt like a mini-apartment. The little details, from the high-quality bedding to the thoughtfully designed workspace, made my stay comfortable and productive.
One of the highlights was the common areas. The rooftop space was stunning, offering breathtaking views of the city. It was the perfect spot to relax with a coffee or enjoy a drink in the evening. The communal vibe fostered by the hotel is truly special—you feel part of a community while still having your privacy.
The staff were exceptional. Friendly, professional, and always ready to help, they went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect.
I also appreciated the sustainability efforts of the hotel, which align well with Copenhagen's eco-conscious spirit. The little touches, like reusable cups and eco-friendly amenities, showed that Zoku truly cares about its impact on the environment.
Overall, Zoku Copenhagen is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience. Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for comfort, innovation, and a unique atmosphere. I can’t wait to return!
It fully reflects the freedom of choice - for work, for long-term/short-term residence. Easy and good location, calm, quiet and clean neighborhood, close to subway and supermarket. Perfect service from the possibility of leaving luggage and early/late check-out, laundry. Different events in the calendar. Friendly staff with no frills. An opportunity to enjoy the view in a cozy environment without being kicked out after the first cup of coffee. Beautiful and functional design. Comfortable beds. The safety of the floors has also been considered, as not everyone can hangs out there. Thank you!
